National Guard JJHuddle Player & Team of the Week Voting...You Choose the Winner!

You vote, you decide...who had Ohio's best performances this Week? Find out who the nominees for the Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio Football Player & Team of the Week are here and how to pick the winner. The choices are impressive...

JJHuddle is proud to announce a new partnership with the Ohio National Guard that will impact Ohio High School Football (and Basketball) positively during the 2012-2013 school year. Here’s how…

Each week during the football, boys basketball and girls basketball regular seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Ohio National Guard Ohio Player of the Week. Each weekly winner will receive an award from the National Guard at their school. At the end of the year, the weekly winners will be entered into a competition for the Player of the Year.

How it works? A thread soliciting nominations will be posted in the JJHuddle Football Forums on Friday. Fans will then nominate top performances/players. We will announce the 10 weekly finalists on JJHuddle at noon on Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Thursday, after which the winner will be announced.

Week 10 Nominees

*Beavercreek
The Beavers won a share of their first league title since 1985 with an 11-0 win over Kettering Fairmont that netted a piece of  the GWOC Central Division championship. Northmont also earned a share. Of note, Beavercreek beat Centerville for the first time since 1985 this year and beat both the Elks and Wayne in the same season for the first time ever.

*Norwayne
The Bobcats – the defending D-IV state champions – capped the first 10-0 season in school history by beating West Salem Northwestern 64-0 to win the Wayne County Athletic League title. Northwestern entered the game 8-1 and 6-0 in the WCAL. Norwayne forced seven turnovers and led 55-0 at the half. Senior RB Jon Zimmerly ran for four TDs and junior QB Joe Dreher threw for four as the Bobcats wrapped the regular season with a Wooster-area record 529 points. The 10-0 regular season is just the seventh ever for a WCAL team (dating back to 1954).

*Ottawa-Glandorf
The Titans clinched the first 10-0 season in school history with a 34-12 win over Van Wert. O-G blew open a close 14-12 game by scoring 20 fourth quarter points. The Western Buckeye League champions were led by senior QB Caleb Siefker who accounted for four TDs (three rushing, one passing).

*Clinton-Massie
The Falcons became just the 19th team in state history to score over 600 points in a season (and one of the rare few to do it in 10 games) as they won their seventh straight South Central Ohio League title with a 76-0 win over East Clinton. Massie’s current 60.6 points per game scoring average is tied for fourth in state history and is the highest scoring season to date for a team since Delphos St. John’s averaged 55.8 points in 1998. In SCOL games alone, Massie outscored its league opponents 455-25 this year. Since joining the SCOL in 2005, Massie is 47-2 in league play. The Falcons are riding a 32-game SCOL win streak. K Callum Jones has kicked 77 PATs this season, which currently ranks fifth on the state single-season record list.

*Lakota East
What’s better than making sure your archrival doesn’t make the playoffs? Making them yourself for the first time ever. Lakota East accomplished both feats in Week 10. The Thunderhawks beat Lakota West, 33-21, for the first time since 2004 and wrapped up the program’s first postseason berth in its 15-year existence. After falling behind 7-0, Lakota East scored 21 unanswered points to take the lead for good.

*Hilliard Darby
The Panthers beat rival Hilliard Bradley 42-0 to complete the first 10-0 season in school history. In 2007 Darby was 9-0 heading into Week 10 before a loss to Groveport-Madison. Five different Darby players ran for first half TDs against Bradley.

*Hartley
The Hawks beat rival Ready 42-8 to finish the regular season undefeated for the second season in a row and the second time in school history. Senior RB Ju’Wuan Woodley ran for 201 yards and two TDs on 22 carries.

*Bloom-Carroll
The Bulldogs were 2-5 after Week 7 but a three-game win streak to close the season that includes victories over Circleville, Amanda-Clearcreek and Hamilton Township, has earned B-C its second postseason berth ever and first since 2000. The Bulldogs are the No. 7 seed in D-IV Region 15.

*Norwood
The Indians won their first conference title since 1988 with a 39-29 win over Western Brown that secured the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division championship. Norwood finishes the season 9-1 after going 2-8 last year and 0-10 in 2010. The Indians ran for 438 yards against WB.

*Clyde
Senior RB Brad Smith set the school’s single-game rushing record with 403 yards and the Fliers set a school record for points in a game in a 74-6 win over Port Clinton. Clyde had 688 yards of offense, including 569 on the ground. Smith ran the ball 21 times and scored four TDs.
