38. OJ Mayo, North College Hill, Basketball, 2003-2006: A current member of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, Mayo won Ohio’s Mr. Basketball award as a sophomore and junior at North College Hill. He also led the Trojans to state titles those two seasons. Mayo averaged 29 points, nine rebounds and six assists per game as a junior. As a senior, Mayo went back to his hometown of Huntington, West Virginia, and led Huntington High to the West Virginia state title. He played for a year at USC before turning pro. Mayo scored 2,033 points in his three years at NCH. Unlike multiple Mr. Basketball winner LeBron James who came a couple years prior, Mayo often had a love-hate relationship with high school basketball fans in Ohio. His talent though was unquestioned.
