Despite falling behind from the very start and trailing 26-11 at half time, Africentric, who trailed by 17 at one point in the second half, rallied near the end of the third quarter that carried them on to a come-from-behind victory over Hiland, 55-46, in the D-IV state title contest. The Nubians, led by Raven Ferguson, Ashar Harris and Shardai Morrison-Fountain, won their second championship in three years.
