SEASON OUTLOOK
Medina is looking to take a step up this year in the Northeast Ohio Conference. The Bees played two of the toughest schools on their schedule down to the wire last year, falling 30-24 in overtime to Wadsworth and dropping a 28-10 decision to eventual Region 2 champion Brunswick. In that game, Brunswick needed a pair of late touchdowns to preserve its 10-0 regular season.
Coach Greg Reed returns for his fourth year at the school and notes he must rebuild on defense. O’Boyle and Armstrong are among the key returnees on offense.
"We lost a number of our defensive players due to graduation," Reed said. "Our young players will need to step up and fill critical roles. We lost some speed, but we should be a little bigger and stronger overall this year."
The Bees’ entire 10-game schedule remains the same from a year ago with the sites flipped for this season.
"Our schedule is very tough," Reed said. "It is very competitive. Our schedule is full of potential playoff teams."
The Northeast Ohio Conference also figures to be full of challenges.
"We are looking for our first league title," Reed said. "We are looking forward to a very competitive year. The early games will be critical for us as we enter league play."
