Former DeSales coach headed to HamiltonPosted by Brad Morris on Mar 11, 2010 at 1:22 pm
Bob Jacoby has been hired to be the new head football coach at Hamilton High School. Jacoby has coached the past three seasons at Hamilton Township, outside of Columbus. After Jacoby led the Rangers to two 5-5 marks in 2007 and 2008, an inexperienced Hamilton Township team went 0-10 this past season. Jacoby is best known for his 18-year tenure at Columbus DeSales, where he led the Stallions to six state championship games, including state titles in 1997 and 1998. Jacoby takes over for Jim Place, who resigned in January following four seasons at Hamilton. Hamilton Township is the second school in the Mid-State League Buckeye Division this offseason to lose a state title winning coach. Ron Hinton left Amanda-Clearcreek after 29 seasons and two state titles last month to become the new head coach at Chillicothe. |
