According to the Marion Star, Aaron Cook, a 1999 Marion Pleasant graduate, was named to replace Chris Kubbs as Pleasant's new football coach. Kubbs, who spent 21 seasons at Pleasant, resigned following the 2009 season.
Cook was hired Monday during a Pleasant Board of Education meeting. A high school English teacher, he will receive a supplemental contract of $6,218 to coach football.
Kubbs posted a 206-40 record at Pleasant and won a pair of state championships (1996 and 2002).
