Marion Local volleyball is rolling. The Flyers continued their trek towards a third straight state title and an undefeated season with a convincing three-set win over Bascom Hopewell-Loudon in the Division IV state semifinals Thursday night at Wright State’s Nutter Center. Marion (27-0) cruised past the Chieftains 25-15, 25-16, 25-16. What’s in store? A third meeting with Norwalk St. Paul (25-3) in the state title game. St. Paul beat Tuscarawas Central Catholic 25-14, 25-12, 25-15 in the other semifinal. The Flyers face the Flyers at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nutter. In 2002, St. Paul beat Marion in the D-IV state title game. In 2007, Marion returned the favor. The grudge match is Saturday. |
