You vote, you decide...who had Ohio's best individual performance in Week 3? Vote below for the Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio Boys Basketball Player of the Week. Polls close Thursday, Jan. 3 at 12:30 p.m.
Winners will be presented a banner to hang in their gym and a trophy by the National Guard.
Team of the Week Nominations
Zack Denny, Germantown Valley View: Senior G scored a school record 51 points in an 84-66 win over Carlisle. Denny, who scored 41 points in a four-point loss to West Carrollton last week as well, is averaging 34.8 points per game. He’s headed to Bowling Green.
Phil Black, Maple Heights: Senior G had 26 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in a win over Beford. Followed that with 32 points (six 3s), eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals in a win over Lorain.
Kyauta Taylor, Cleveland East Tech: Scored 44 points in a win over Cleveland John Marshall.
Richard Parker, Garfield Heights: Senior set a school record with nine 3s in a 100-49 win over Collinwood.
Connor Myslowski, West Carrollton: Senior G scored 35 points and surpassed 1,000 career points in a 70-61 loss to Springboro.
Pete Nelson, Lakewood: Senior G scored 30 points and set a school record by hitting 16-of-16 free throws in a 63-57 win over Elyria Catholic. The old Lakewood FT record was 14-of-14 by Ed Zambie during the 1977-78 season.
Chad Lands, Beaver Eastern: Senior G scored 37 points in a victory over Portsmouth Clay and 29 in a win over New Boston.
Mark Donnal, Anthony Wayne: Senior F surpassed 1,000 career points with 21 in a win over Bryan. That followed outings of 28 points and 17 rebounds in a win over Napoleon and 29 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Southview.
Mason Mamarella, Dover: Senior G scored 30 points in a 56-54 win over rival New Philadelphia.
Ryan Bush, Salem: Senior G scored a career-high 38 points in a 69-54 win over East Liverpool.

Unfortunately, Sophomore Luke Kennard from Franklin is not a choice.

I voted for Nelson....any kid who can go 16-16 from the line deserves something....heck, most HS kids would be happy to hit 10-16. FT shooting is horrible these days...nice to see someone still working at it.

6' 1" guard from Salem out to a 7-0 start as of 1/4/13. Averaging 25 ppg, 6 rbpg, 3 apg, 2.5 spg, and 1 Dunk per game. He's also a 3.7 grade point average student.
