Official at D-II Regional Challenges Fans After Game -

I went to the Bellbrook-Carroll D-II Boys Regional Semifinal tonight and saw something I've never seen before. I saw an official challenge a fan to a fight after the game. Amazingly poor display of professionalism by an OHSAA official at one of the state's marquee events.
The game was a good one and there were several questionable calls throughout on both teams. In OT Carroll was granted a free kick after another arguable call and the Patriots hit it home for the game-winner. While Carroll students and players were celebrating on the field, Bellbrook fans yelled at the official after he ran by their seats to get something at midfield. After that he was headed towards the locker room when he abruptly turned around and came back at one vocal fan in particular. He approached the fan and told the fan to "meet him outside." He said it several times. Finally a few others intervened and assisted the official back to the locker room.
Still can't believe it. I've seen officials berated numerous times, but I've never seen one turn on the crowd. Especially at an event like a regional tournament. Again, an unbelievable display of poor sportsmanship by the official who should not be allowed to officiate games of that magnitude if he can't handle the heat.
Officials have a thankless job, but they accept the pressure that comes with the job. This official apparently can't handle the responsibility of being the one to police the action.
Just rubbed me the wrong way. Most disgusting thing I've seen in high school athletics in a long time.
