The Ohio Grapplers are excited to announce that the 2013 Ohio Novice State Tournament will be February 10th, 2013. The inaugural tournament last year was a great success. The goal of this tournament is to give the less experienced wrestlers an opportunity to compete with wrestlers of similar experience. We feel that this will in turn lead to more wrestlers sticking with this great sport for the long term.

Sunday, February 10th, 2013

Where: Delta High School 605 Taylor Street, Delta, Ohio 43515
Date: Sunday, February 10th, 2013
Time: Wrestling begins at 9:00A SHARP
Awards: 1st-4th custom medals and State Champion t-shirt
Registration: Registration and $20 entry fee must be paid online at www.trackwrestling.com by Friday February 8 at 12pm

Admission: Senior Citizens - $4, Adults - $5
Matches: Modified OHSAA rules, three 1 minute periods, Double Elimination, 10pt. technical. Certified Officials

Food: NO Coolers. Concessions available.

Qualifications: To be qualified you must meet ALL requirements:
1. Must be an Ohio resident
2. 3 years or less experience
3. No OAC state qualification (Not including current year)
4. No OYWA state qualification (Not including current year)
5. No placing in top 6 in OURWAY state, unless 8 or less in [/indent]bracket (Not including current year)
6. No return Novice State Finalist (1st and 2nd Place)
[/indent]7. In the event of a challenge all wrestlers MUST have a [/indent]copy of Birth Certificate and signed Novice Verification Form on site.

 Division I weight classes Birth Year 2006 and Later
37, 40, 43, 46, 49, 52, 57, 62, 75

Division II weight classes Birth Year 2004 and 2005
45, 48, 51, 55, 59, 63, 67, 72, 77, 85, 120

Division III weight classes Birth Year 2002 and 2003
55, 60, 65, 68, 71, 75, 80, 85, 90, 100, 115, 160

Division IV weight classes Birth Year 2000 and 2001
68, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 115, 130, 145, 180

Division V weight classes: 7th and 8th Graders MUST wrestle DV
80, 86, 92, 98, 104, 112, 120, 130, 145, 160, 180, 250

Weigh Ins: No weigh ins day of the tournament
Saturday, February 9th, 2013 4pm-6pm at Delta High School

Satellite weigh in locations will be announced closer to the tournament.

Coaching Bands: All coaches must wear coaches bands, available onsite

2013 Ohio Novice State Regional Qualifiers Information

We are looking for 3 sites that would like to host an Ohio Novice State Regional Qualifier for the 2012-2013 season.

Benefits to Your Group:

· Your tournament would be one of 4 regional qualifiers for the Novice State Tournament

· We would promote your tournament on our website, Facebook page, and in any and all contact we have with our wrestlers and their coaches.

· Ohio Novice State Regional Qualifier champions will be guaranteed seeding in the 2013 Ohio Novice State Tournament.

· Ohio Novice State Regional placer 1st-4th will be guaranteed entrance into the tourney by having preferential registration.

· Your tournament would be given access to our database of wrestling officials.

· We would provide you resources on ensuring that your tournament runs smooth. This information is based on running dozens of tournaments over the past 20 years.

· We also would offer assistance in utilizing www.trackwrestling.com in running your tournament (If interested)


What We Need From You:

· The tournament would need to take place at least 2 week before Sunday February 10, 2013.

· We would need your tournament to use our predetermined weight classes.

· There will be a $1 fee paid to Ohio Novice State per wrestler registered at your Ohio Novice State Regional Qualifier.
