It has obviously been a disapointing year for Lancaster but I hope they show some pride and get up for the last game of the season. Newark is always sky high for Lancaster and it would make their season if they could beat the Gales. I encourage the Golden Gales to have a good week of practice, beat their long time rival, end the season on a high note and send the seniors out with a victory.

My 5-5 prediction before the season seems a little generous now. Battling Ne'rk for 6th place in the Ohio. Who'da thunk it?

What does Lancaster have coming back next year? How do things look for '13?

unfortunately, i think this will be a battle, unlike years past. when i went to lanc, nerk was our biggest rival. so, even tho my dislike for ptown is well documented, my hatred for all things nerk is at the top of the list. i look for a shootout with no defense in sight, for either team. 43-42, lanc.

as far as what we have coming back next year...3 O-lineman, qb, fb, both wing backs. on the defensive side, i believe were losing quite a bit. 2 dl, de, 2 lb and at least 2 db. gonna b an interesting year next year.

unless we can shore up that defense next year, i look for a 5-5, 6-4 year, at best. im still hoping for a new capt. to right this ship. just one mans opinion.

i know this is a fball thread, but i will say this about nerk...they have 3 studs that are soph on the bball team, not sure if they play fball or not. but look for nerk to go deep in the bball playoffs the next 3 years. and if they dont win a state title, ill be very surprised.

Newark at least has a punchers chance in this game. Lancaster beat Logan and Groveport. Newark beat Logan and Groveport. Lancaster played Reynoldsburg tough and Newark didn't. My head says Lancaster will win but I am going with my heart in this one.

As I said earlier this one comes down to pride. This game is obviously not one of the marquee mathups Friday night but it can bring out some of the positive aspects of high school sports, such as continuing to give your best effort for yourself and your teammates even though things have not gone as you would have liked. If the Gales don't turn the ball over I think they win something like 28-17. Since it is the last game the Lancaster coaches could get real crazy and throw the ball to a 6'7" possible Division 1 tight end !

i hope they dont start throwing now. id be severley dissappointed. if you cant admake adjustments in the middle of the year, dont make them for the last game. and btw, im not sure were looking forward to bball season either.

This used to be a good game when I was at Zanesville. But now both programs are a shell of their former self. We played Newark this year in a blowout. I can't see the gales not winning. 24-10 Lancaster

im not sure about "one of the top rivalries in the state of ohio", but lancaster newark has been around for many decades and is probably lancasters oldest rival. i def wouldnt b taking the under in this game, no defense for as far as the eye can see, in either direction.
