Default Transfers - 10-22-2012, 09:38 AM

I noticed alwayslearning started a similar thread on the boys basketball forum, so I thought I'd start a similar one under the girls forum. At this point, I'm aware of the following, most of which have been mentioned on the forum already:

Transfers to Kettering Fairmont, Reynoldsburg, and Africentric.
Foreign exchange post player at Olentangy Orange whose host family is the Aglers.

If you are aware of others, please post.

I was aware of that, but forgot to type the Orange. Corrected now. That's why I mentioned the host family.. Thanks for catching that....wouldn't want to get Feas mad at me.

Linden-McKinley has 4 move ins from Louisiana. All cousins, whose older sisters were here during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Briggs has a transfer from Bishop Ready, very solid and smart basketball player. Will help them tremendously

No, this girl was a sophoomore last year. The girl that transfered was on JV at Ready, she is now a Junior. Very solid, the girl you are thinking of is still at Ready and will be very good for them this year. (she should be at Briggs according to her address.)

wouldnt it be nice if most of those kids who go to cathloic schools actually went to some of these city schools that are not that bad off atmosphere wise??? Let a couple of these other schools in the south get some love...of course only if they have quality coaches and not these teacher coaches who dont do there due diligence and master their craft.

Much of what you say is true, but speaking on behalf of my friend at Briggs plus a game I saw Walnut Ridge play in last year's tournament, the coaches at those schools are doing a good job of teaching the game to the players they have. Eastmoor's talented freshman class will also make them much improved. Hopefully, the other soutn division schools can follow suit to a degree.

It's tough coaching in the City League South, we will always be under the Shadow of Africentric and Eastmoor. I will say I have seen my program at it's best and worst. But seeing 44 girls show interest in basketball, 30 actually come to open gyms and getting a freshman class of 14 girls then you know you are doing something right. Especially one of the most coveted girls coming out of middle school in the city. I actually am heading back to school to be a teacher, I want to teach because I was a coach first.

Spurs50_21, I heard they was not eligible. A couple coaches were talking about it at the district 10 meeting. That is what I was told. 3dogs, I did not start it, but I chimed in like you know I would. I also seen that the girl from twinsburg did not make it down to columbus. She will be taking her talents to Purdue University next year. Africentric and kettering Fairmont got the best transfers of the season. State champs in the divisions respectfully! Reynoldsburg will be back in the final four and with a nice freshman class coming in the following year, they might get over the hump and win one for 3dogs

alwayslearning...Whitehall challenged and what you heard last week was initially correct. However, decision was appealed at 10/16 hearing and parents were informed the following day the appeal was approved. They clearly proved to the appeals board that the transfers had nothing to do with athletics.

3dogs....what was the reason for the move? Whitehall is going to have brand new schools and academically they are making improvements. Not trying to open a can of worms, as it might appear. Simply curious to know what made them go to Reynoldsburg.
