After watching the first four whetstone games i'm not sure that the team has gotten any better. The coach from last year left this program in shambles firing asst coaches in the middle of the year then calling the offense, defense, and special teams all by himself, therefore setting himself up to fail on a island all by himself. The team ended the year with 29 players, after they started with 59 week one last year. Players were ran off daily and weekly like the plague.
Very few players in the school have a interest in football besides the ones who have played for 2-3 years. The new staff will really have to work hard to build the numbers up if this program wants to see a growth. The new staff came in late so they were put at a huge disadvantage ,so the quick fix might be the"Basketball on Grass" well let me tell you that isn't working, 50 to 70 pass attempts in a game won't beat a good or avg team.
The braves need to try and get a more balanced approach, use those big hogs up front and try to run the ball every now and then instead of only running on 4th down. I also don't understand why the coaches don't use the headsets with the coaches up top to see what there view might be ??
I would like to see the d-coord show more emotion , he has no defensive chart or head set. he just calls the defense of the top of his head, i guess he's trying what he did in college but that doesn't seem to be working. Can a first year high school coach really be an effective d-coord ?
This is a lot of rambling but in now way shape or form should they be giving up 212 pts so far 53 per game.
Lets go braves, the next two weeks will be tough but we can still win some games that are left on the schedule. just my 2-cents
