Default Vote Now & Here for the Week 1 Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio Football Team of the Week - 08-27-2012, 11:26 AM

You vote, you decide...who had Ohio's best Team performance in Week 1? Find out who the nominees for the Ohio National Guard JJHuddle Ohio Football Team of the Week are here and how to pick the winner. The choices are impressive...

WEEK 1 NOMINEES

New Paris National Trail
The Trailblazers beat Dayton Ponitz 19-8 in the opener. Why is that significant? National Trail is 2-58 the last six years. Right now they are 1-0.

Sidney
The Yellow Jackets snapped a 20-game losing streak with a 10-7 OT win over St. Marys. Coincidently, this means that Sidney’s last three wins have been in OT, including victories over Vandalia-Butler and Troy to conclude the 2009 season.

Clinton-Massie
The Falcons scored 43 first quarter points and beat host Blanchester 63-0 to win their sixth straight Cider Keg rivalry game. Massie scored nearly every way imaginable, including kickoff, fumble and interception returns. The Falcons defense forced five turnovers, allowed 84 yards and surrendered three first downs.

Bucyrus Wynford
The Royals beat Caledonia River Valley to extend the state’s longest regular season win streak to 59 games.

East Knox
The Bulldogs were 1-9 last year, but opened 2012 with a 27-19 win over playoff regular Coshocton.

Tippecanoe
The Red Devils had three 100-yard rushers in a 62-7 win over St. Paris Graham. Cameron Johnson had eight carries for 115 yards and three TDs. Jacob Hall had nine carries for 101 yards and two TDs. Nick Fisher had seven carries for 117 yards and two TDs.

Bishop Hartley
The Hawks gained 610 total yards, including 508 on the ground, in a 42-0 win over Amanda-Clearcreek. Defensively, Hartley allowed 73 yards and six first downs

Norwalk
The Truckers trucked Milan Edison by rolling up over 600 yards of offense in a 64-21 win.

Toledo St. Francis
The Knights, picked to finish towards the bottom of the Three Rivers Athletic Conference, produced a statement win for the conference by knocking off Northern Lakes League power Sylvania Southview 30-27.

Dayton Oakwood
The Lumberjacks snapped an 11-game losing streak with a 42-0 win over visiting Dayton Belmont.

Clinton Massie for several reasons. They just posted their 5th straight shutout of one of their cross county rivals and scored 43 points in 1 quarter. With that win, they also get the rights to one of the oldest and best trophies in Ohio high school football, the keg!
