...I'm sure EVERYONE remembers the Duke lacross players, so I'd say if there is truth to it, law enforcement & the judicial system will take the necessary steps, otherwise your innocent until proven guilty.

Well said 4 Cards....it is real, it's heinous, and justice will be served. Already~the vultures are putting in their two cents >> "five players" , uh no.Until any charges are forthcoming it really doesn't warrant speculation ...

I agree this is not a topic for this forum. The whole story is filled with rumors spread by teenage kids. Let the police handle what really happened. There was no story on Steubenville news,but everytime I hear about it,it involves more people and more disgusting stories. Don't add to these rumors. JJ should delete this whole thread!!

The thread shouldn't be deleted--in fact, the issue of sexual harassment and assault in high school athletics is all too often swept under the rug. I understand the sensitivity surrounding this particular case, as it's largely just hearsay at this point, but I wouldn't really support censoring the discussion. Folks should stop spreading pure speculation and rumor until the facts surface, however.

With out going into to much detail, I was told that test showed that is no evidence of rape. Any charges that were filed have been dropped and no new charges will be filed.

What difference does it make if people are talking about something or writing about it on here? That is the world we live in today, sometimes people use forums and facebook instead of only talking in person or on the phone. Besides, most of the people on here only know of the rumor/story. The people that live in Steubenville are not only talking about the situation but I'm sure names are being brought up amongst people there, much more serious. Some people need to lighten up. When word gets out about something like this, this is what happens, people talk about it. Unless names are being thrown around and linked to unproven facts, nothing is out of control.

If and when a story has been proven to be nothing or something, people will lose interest.

Very touchy subject. On one hand, I think this should be talked about and discussed. This is the only website or source that has any info regarding this subject. Why? This seems like pretty big news to me. Regardless of what happened, I think there is enough ************** to at least suspend these kids until it's all sorted out. If there is even a slight possiblity that these kids did what everyone is saying they did, they shouldnt be anywhere near the football field. On the other hand, rumors can spread like fire. Especially in the ohio valley. I would like to say that the police and judicial system will take care of this, but to be 100% honest, I dont really trust either. Im sure many of you will agree. What I dont want is for this story to be swept under the rug like so many others.
