Didn't discover the sport until '94 (began competing my junior year of high school), so unfortunately never got to witness those great Lancaster teams, Caldwell teams, Amanda Clearcreek teams.
Two central district teams that impressed me tremendously when I first started were the Lakewood boys and Amanda Clearcreek girls.
Lakewood finished 3rd in the state D2 in '94 led by the top 1,2,3 punch in the state. I believe McMullen was the name of their top guy.
Amanda Clearcreek girls were ranked near the top of the polls most of the year in D2 '95, unfortunately their lead runner struggled down the stretch with, I believe, iron deficiency, and they were unable to put it together at the state meet.
Really enjoyed watching those two teams as a newcomer to the sport.
Overall, the most impressive central district teams I've witnessed since then were the 2000 Davidson boys and girls. Both of them D1 state champs. I remember their boys, in particular, besting a very good/deep field at the state meet that year.
