LMAO @ Tinora! This is what they git! I feel very sorry for the boys though. They players don't deserve this! Whoever comes in is going to have a pretty talented team even with the defections. But this summer will hurt the boys basketball program in the long run IMO.

Bring it!

Agree. In the long run it only hurts the kids. IMO, a move, if it was going to be made, should have been done 2 years ago. Also, IMO a move was never needed. A coach is there to coach, teach discipline, etc, not make buddy buddy with everyone. That comes later when the kids come back a few years later to visit the program, then they realize that they had going and why things were done the way they were. To make them better people.
As far as TJ, it's to bad for him. I actually thought he would be a good fit. It seems his other employer did not agree. Good luck to him however.

At this point, it's time to save face. It's late in the game I'd say. You need to save this year as well as the next few seasons. You need someone familiar with the kids, the program ect. I'd hire the Coach Hunter who had the JV the past few. He is a great communicator with the kids it seems. He explains what they need to do after exiting the game. He's young, but these days he can relate better to today's athletes. Just my opinion however.

Flory has coached at the junior high level at Tinora and the varsity level at Ayersville. He's a good coach and a good fit anywhere.

Well coach Hunter it is. From what I have seen of him, he is not ready to be a Varsity basketball coach. That said, I wish him the best of luck. Tinora did the only thing they could do at this point. So the school board's reason for not renewing coach Mahnke's contract was because they wanted to go in different direction. Down is definitely a different direction!

With all due respect, I think he is a great hire. He seems, at far albeit, to be a great teacher of the game. Coach Hunter explains in great detail what a player needs to do as I stated earlier.
He may have not been a 'name' hire, but IMO is the best fit at this time for the program.
As far a your statement about going down, well you can only coach the talent you have. If they leave or do not participate, it's hardly the coaches fault.

Go Rams!

Don't know who all gets the crescent news but take a look in the football preview. In the main article they interviewed local coaching "legends". Within that article there is a section called "Let the coaches coach" Says all you need to know about what this program has gotten to. Parents not letting the coaches be coaches.

I think talent takes you far, like I said before. This team plays hard! One season will not tell the tale of his coaching, especially with all the veteran players the Rams have. I do hope he is successful in the long run, only time will tell.

Congrats to Coach Hunter and the Rams! They move on to District Finals beating Archbold, 55-50! Oh what a year it has been! Looks like David vs. Goliath for Saturday night!

Coach Hunter definitely started with a solid team but no one expected this caliber of team. His coaching approach is different than most but when you switch the style of basketball from what it was under Manke to what it is now you have to "re-teach" those players the game of basketball. The kids have responded incredibly well I think they will will give OG a run for their money tomorrow. GO RAMS!!
