Default Who's Going to be Romney's VP? - 06-23-2012, 03:42 PM

With the stories of more potential Vice Presidential candidates being vetted (http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/r...205843609.html), I thought we should have a poll of whom you believe Mitt Romney will choose. This isn't who you WANT to be VP, but who do you think will be selected. Here are the most likely candidates: Christie, Daniels, Haley, McDonnell, Rand Paul, Pawlenty, Portman, Rubio, Ryan and Other

Mitt has to carry Ohio and Portman may be his best hope.

I'm a little surprised that Sarah isn't on the list, but then according to the conservatives, he already has the women's vote locked up.

I'm also very doubtful that Portman would guarantee a win for Romney in Ohio.

I think that this election is still something of a long shot for Romney. The thing about Romney that bothers me the most is that the people responsible for selecting him in the first place will expect him to actually become a conservative and follow their orders when he gets in office. I think that that by itself should be enough to eliminate any possible chance he has to win.

I look for Obama to win re-election by about three to five percent of the vote.

Romney leads the polls. Next week, The ex-Harvard Law Review editor gets his signature 'achievment' declared unconstitutional. The economy is not predicted to improve before November. You've got Biden.

Still you see a win for your ticket based on a hunch about a controversy that doesn't exsist.

Seriously?

I voted 'other'. Dick Cheney would be my choice. His daughter just got married so that should help, right?

I had the honor of shaking hands with Mitt Romney last Sunday in Troy. Also shook hands with his wife and John Boehner. He wished me a happy fathers day and likewise.

Go Troy!

I agree with Lancer.

Homer.... Cheney, really? A 5 or 6 time coward who talks a big game but NEVER personally backed it up.I pinched my nose each time I voted for Bush with Cheney on the ticket.

You agree with what? His 'gut feeling'? Romney leads yet he's "a long shot?"

I was being facitious about Cheney. It makes about as much sense as you calling him a coward with no evidence. Speaking of "talks a big game but never personally backed it up"... well, that describes BO to a tee.

There will be some nose holding while voting this year as well. Fortunately for my team, most of it will be happening on the other side.

**Romney 2012**

I don't put much stock in the polls. Just out and about talking with people, small usiness owners, and registered democrats I see Romney in a landslide. Obamas credibility is shot beyond repair before November and worse yet he is seen as untrustworthy by most people I've talked with. The bad feeling is now filtering down to the state races. The fast and furious scandal is killing him right now, the jews and catholics have dumped him, and his being lectured at by Putin made him look inexperienced, weak, and quite childlike. People are viewing him as embarrasing.

I really do not like why VP are pick as running mates. Pick this person because he can carry a state, pick this person he can help get the votes of a certain group of people. Should we not pick people that God forbid something happens would make a good president and leader for this country? How many times have you thought, I sure hope nothing happens to the President because look at what would be running this nation? I know I have many times, including the person that is VP right now.

Come on Al, that would simply make too much sense.

I think Daniels would be the best choice, either him or Rubio, but Daniels took a job at Purdue University, so Daniels really had no shot at the VP bid. I think Pawlenty will get to be the VP candidate.

Where is Romney leading at? just curious what poll you were referring too. I know Romney has fallen behind in the lastest poll in Florida. He was up by 3 or 4 points, now Obama moved back ahead of him in the one poll I saw from Florida. I haven't heard about numbers from Ohio. Romney needs both Ohio and Florida, if he loses either one, Obama gets re-elected.

Polls are fun, aren't they?

Mostly meaningless, but they do provide a snapshot of any given time. If I'm going to waste my time reading them, I always go to the top for perspective.

In an analysis of 2008 pollsters, Rasmussen proved to be the most accurate. Poll Accuracy in the 2008 Presidential Elections

At this point (and most up-to-date) they've got it-- Romney 48% Obama 43%

Hope that helps.

BTW-- Rubio is a future superstar, but I don't think we should burn him on this turn. A little seasoning is in HIS best interest.

He's the hole card. IF BO pulls this out, Rubio/Christie will be required to stop Hillary in 2016.

Too bad Condi doesn't want the VP title. She is the best person for the job...period. Can you imagine the debates with Bumbles Biden? lol

Agree, Condi is my first choice. Rubio seems to be on tour-lots of TV lately--much more so than Portman. Hate to say it, but I think it will come down to what state needs the bigger boost-Florida or Ohio. Or, does the Latino vote come with Rubio-at least enough to win some states & Independents?

Concur 100% with the, "which state needs the bigger boost". A say don't risk Condi. She'd catch all the heat and zero credit depending on the election results. Trump thinks Sarah is "top shelf". Mitt has to gamble unless to plans to make his selection the night before. Personally, I don't think it matters. Give Mark Levin the nod!
