Same day! He got life, but they released him a couple of years ago. Still, 30 years in jail is a long damn time. He was on parole from the state of Washington and wasn't supposed to leave. He made it to Hawaii where they think he killed 3 gals, including my sister who was 24 at the time. I still miss her. :(

guns don't kill people... people kill people.
brian terry goes to heaven knowing that, sure the gun that killed him was easily obtained, but that same ease of attainment is a great american virtue guaranteed by the divinely-inspired second amendment of the United States Constitution. he dies a martyr for our forefather's divine vision. a hero forever in our hearts.
why don't you like freedom?

Whoa, nelly...
He dies a victim of failed policy. You're starting to piss me off. Mexico doesn't have a second amendment, nor would they understand it if they did. Shove your martyr dismissal. If it weren't for a stupid pretense, Brian Terry might still be amongst us today. His family has a right to know who f'd up.
Quit while you think you're ahead.

why do you dislike the second amendment? without it there would BE NO first amendment.
we COULD limit people's ability to buy dozens of guns at one sitting and run them to sell to mexican drug lords, but that would limit our freedom to buy dozens of guns at one sitting!
that ain't going to happen in MY america!

It has given me a lifetime appreciation for every day on this side of the dirt. In addition, the whole experience simply widened my perspective on a number of issues. Just another of those things that gives true meaning to the notion of, "been in those shoes". Something like being with my favorite aunt as she took her last breath. I thank the "Big Guy" for allowing me to be part of such things, both good and bad.

this thread, which seeks to tar obama and holder because they continued a program first started under bush.. is a joke.
1--fast and furious was YOUR idea.
2--it started under bush.
3--now you think it is contemptible.
therefore: isn't your own thinking contemptible?
this is not an isolated case.
cap and trade was your idea. now that obama likes it YOU think it is socialism.
the individual mandate is YOUR idea, too. now that obama has agreed you call it socialism.
limiting assault weapons was bush I's idea.. you blamed it on clinton. but now you blame it on obama who wasn't anywhere near washington when all of that went down. one thing is for sure: you don't like your own idea..
and you just nominated a man who banned assault weapons in massachusetts, a man who joined a multi-state pact to implement cap and trade policies, and a governor who forced the citizens of massachusetts to buy health insurance under an individual mandate.

Crazy ain't it?
Key difference on fast and furious. Evidently it was palatable to liberals or they wouldn't have continued it, correct? Did the Bush administration mis-manage it to the point someone got killed? Regardless of the origin, our present leadership has failed in executing covert operations. Brian Terry's family wants answers.
Why don't you?

well no, it wasn't palatable to me. i am a gun owner, and yet if i had a chance i would outlaw banana clips so fast your head would spin. if we have a revolution amateur machinists would be able to make these in secret easily. there is no argument for them. obama on the other hand hasn't and won't do that. we do have differences.
the problem here is your notion that somehow obama is this crazy left wing guy, when in truth he is very moderate. i am a garden variety democrat. if you want to meet a left wing crazy man? i'll introduce you to my father.
you guys condemn Obama as a socialist for doing a lot of YOUR OWN STUFF.
a case can be made for your being nuts. i'd like to hear an argument contrary.

between us friends..
1-you are going to need better material than this.
2-you need to start fighting this one on our turf. instead of being fought in obama land this is being fought in what you would have called red states until obama arrived. the electoral map leaves romney no room for error. in my opinion you lose florida and you need to win ohio, pennsylvania, and NJ to compensate.
3-you've seen real numbers. so have i. i'm not talking about the stuff at RCP. you guys are defending a boatload of tossup house seats. 80-100 of them. most of these have flipped at least once--many twice--in recent cycles. concentrating on obama leaves you vulnerable.

Obama knew all about it, approved it and Holder is covering it up, trying to run out the clock till the election. If he is re-elected, the matter will be swept under the rug until a real justice dept can reveal the details.
The notion that a program similar to Bush's program wasn't known and approved by the POTUS is absolutely ludicrous. If things were reversed, how do you think hackdog dishonorable Pat Leahy would be handling this?

There aren't anywhere close to 80-100 tossup seats. I'll guarantee right now that the dems don't pick up more than 10-12 max.
The only question at this point is whether the pubs take the Senate. The House isn't even close to being in play.
