Default Name your favorite Bat - 02-09-2012, 03:26 PM

With the 2012 baseball season just around the corner and the new bat rule in full force, let's hear what folks like in the new bats that they are trying out.

Rawlings 5150
Marucci Cat 5

My JV team used the 5150 last season and had great results.

The Cat 5 seems to be the favorite-BY FAR of all the bats we have tried.

mtrotb.....several of the boys ordered Easton's XL-1 and the S-3. Very good bats but after getting the Cat5, there seems to be more pop. Some of the boys like the weight distribution as they are more balanced since Marucci added weight to the handle. We have placed 3 different orders for the Cat5 totaling over 30 bats since the 1st of the year. You can order directly from the Marucci rep if you have 10 bats or more. The Cat5 costs us $135.00.

Blaze, my son got the CAT 5 back in Oct. from his high school coach as he helping the rep move some bats. You got a great price that's for sure. It is a great bat for him although since he was recovering from injury was able to play games last fall and only been doing bp or hitting at Avery.

If you haven't tried the new hickory bats, you haven't tried them all.

Rip It Prototype II...any bat that nearly gets banned for being too hot has to be good right???

"We have heard from a few sources that the Rip It Prototype BBCOR baseball bat was banned by the NCAA for being too hot for BBCOR standards.

As of writing this, I have NOT been able to confirm this to be true or a rumor. From a very reliable source, I have seen a copy of a memo that was allegedly issued by NCAA regarding the ban, however I have been unable to find other evidence anywhere else."

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result each time.

NCAA on Friday banned the only the 33 inch CAT 5 which we have. Will high schools follow?

Marucci expects the high school federation to follow NCAA and ban the 33/30.
Return and exchange options are on their website. This is only for the 33. If you have the 32 or 34 you are okay.
