Lo0ving & Davis's games are similar to Tayshaun Prince. It's very laid back style of play and they really want no parts of playing inside. If he was to add some post play to his game you may be looking at a game similar to Carmelo Anthony.

I agree with yattamin`s comparison to Deibler,Loving is an excellent shooter the "Monster dunks" probably will not be his game.

He's got great hops and I think is an excellent player. Really seeing him at Findlay I was blown away at how complete he is. He also played with a lot of tenacity and emotion, and in all honesty games down the stretch definitely have a different component to them. He kind of reminds me of Evan Turner in all honesty, he basically played PG on offense and defended(quite well also) a 7' Center on defense. He's the real deal

Dunks to be sure, but when I think of "monster" dunks, I think of something more like this:

This is University of Detroit Mercy forward Doug Anderson from his high school days at Kalamazoo Central.

My point is this: Marc Loving is exponentially better at basketball than Doug Anderson. Marc's game is "quiet" for the most part, however, and I think he gets the short end of comparisons to more explosive players because of it. As I said in my previous post, his skill level is extremely high for a kid his age and size.

Give me a break; He is only a junior lets talk about this next year. As for being lazy he plays more than anyone else on the team and still leads the team in scoring and rebounds.

If you play more than anyone else you have a better chance of scoring and rebounding more than anyone else.

Lazy? Haha he's probably tired from playing almost every minute and running the offense while playing down low on D. That's gotta be just absolutely exhausting

I have followed Marc Loving for three years being a b-ball junkie. His basketball style is similiar to a 6'4 to 6'5 guard but he is a legitmate 6'8 with a wing span of a 6'10 to 6'11 player. He has great court sense with his passing, dribbling and shooting. This is very unusual an a exceptional type of a college recruit. I see why Matta offered him a scholarship as a freshman. He has a great b-ball IQ like a chess player but this year he is doing too much on his own and gets down on himself when he has turnovers or makes mistakes. SJJ is definitely missing Gardner at point guard and the lack of a another consistant big man puts more pressure on Loving to do it all. I saw the Roger's game and even though Loving stats on paper look awesome his turnover ration was terrible. He feels he has to take total control from the defensive rebound to the offensive shot. It is making the other 4 on the court just standing around and watching. It's coach Ed's job to control this or it could be a quick exit in the tourney even with Gardner back at the point guard helm. We'll see.

The text I got from U.T. was Loving had 17 and Gardner 11 at halftime against St. Francis. Blade has final at 61-46. Don't have other details

Loving finished with 32. He had two dunks, one on a breakaway and the second after picking up an offensive rebound 5 feet from the rim and seeing the SFS defense part like the Red Sea. I also recall two 3-pointers and a 3rd that was waved off because he was out of bounds when he caught the pass. As usual, he got to the line early and often. To say SFS doesn't have anyone that can match up is an understatement.

Gardner looked very good. He came out with ice on his wrist after halftime but played quite a bit.

SFS pushed the ball up the floor for most of the first half and might have taken the lead a time or two if their post players could catch a pass and complete a move.

The best defense of the night goes to Father Doyle, Father Martinez and Brother Laniauskas. The student section was kept on a tight leash, although they looked rather uninspired for most of the game, anyway. I guess playing a one win team will do that to you.
