We have to remember they were LAST years runner up. That being noted, A lot of good things for Dover, defense did a solid job and offense moved the ball well. Best of all no injuries. #3 laid some licks.#7 looked pretty sharp.#16 made some nice tackles #45 will be in QB nightmares all season. Great team effort. Great job Dover!!!

Pickington Central did play pretty flat. I would call it a tie at best, but great job Dover a lot better then last year. I really did think Dover was going to get waxed. Dover boys conditioning and effort was noted from this fan. A real nice surprise seeing Dover play so well as a team.

After watching tonight's scrimmage I am cautiously optimistic on the season. I don't really have any complaints on the way we played at all. I am just not so sure what I saw from Pick Central was their best effort. I was impressed though however in I think this was the best I have ever seen Dover play in a scrimmage. I do believe we will have another solid season and have a chance at taking that next step!!!!! GO TORNADOES!!!!! BEAT SHAW!!!!!

Go Dover!

Did Dover grow a defense or were the opponents dogging it? Tornadoes didn't play well on the O line but in all honesty, they had some monsters up front! I was expecting we'd get crushed but was pleasantly surprised with the performance, especially the showing from our usually bedridden defense.

I see our hometown experts are at it with the silly comments again! Pickerington Central the Division I runner up last year drives 2 hours to play a game condition scrimmage against a division III team and does not give their best effort ? Pickerington Central is expected to be one of top Division I teams in central Ohio and maybe the State again this year . They have several Division I college recruits on their team this year. Ithink our Tornadoes played very well and easily could have scored 1st but had a touchdown pass dropped in the endzone on 4th down .They scored on their next possesion and moved the ball well most of the scrimmage .They played very good defense in the 3rd quarter and the offense scored the winning touchdown late in the 3 quarter scrimmage and the defense held on the last drive .I think they still have work to do but if they play hardnosed fundamental defense to go with the outstanding offense we could have a very good year !Give credit when credit is do !

Good job on the scrimmage. I hope we keep playing defense with that type of intensity. BUT....scrimmages don't count. Thursday starts the real season. Keep working hard boys and don't every be satisfied.

This is a opinion board ace, like you everyone has one. I expect Dover will be Dover and nothing we say could have an effect on the team. I wouldn't put to much weight on a scrimmage. But then again that's my opinion. I enjoyed your post on the details of the scrimmage and the play by play. So did Dover's opponents.

Your opinion on hard-nosed fundamental defense is still in the question column with me. But then again that's my opinion.

I like the optimism of our fans, but the jury is still out. Pick Ctrl and Wooster are not that good. Not the same Pick Ctrl team as last year. It will take a few weeks to shore up the OL and WR corps. The offense will sputter the first few games.

The defense has looked better, but we have not faced someone that can run right at us.

I know the kids will play their hearts out and coach Ifft and staff will have them prepared.

Penalties, dropped passes, and decision making are still hurting us.

I'm not getting overexcited yet, but we have the potential.

They will still be good central will be down but a playoff caliber team none the less dover should at least win 2-3 wins in the playoffs.

That's true sportster too bad for mooney being D3. Dover will take them down this year because we are a better team than last year and our turnovers will not be there for mooney to take advantage of.

Pickerington Central not that good ? In their 1st scrimmage they beat CinC. Moeller which in the JJ HUddle power poll is rated #1 for division I!Maybe not as good as last year but still a very good program. Blackwolf some of your comments are a little ironic because I remember back before you used the grecian formula on your grey fur / in the Shock/Awe era you
posted some bulletin board material before our playoff game with Sheridan that may have affected the emotional mindset that the Generals had when the game started !I think alot of players and coaches read whats on the huddle and that could have an impact because alot of football games are won or lost because a team is playing with alot of emotion or a lack of it! I don't think my play by play gave any secrets away because the scouts of our opponents were sitting behind me at the scrimmage!

Blackwolf I think I said in my comments about the Tornadoes Defense in the scrimmage that if we play good hardnosed fundemental Defense/ which I saw signs of in the scrimmage. Dover played a more Agressive style which they haven't for a while ,with tighter coverages and much better tackling and also put greater pressure on the quarterback ! We haven't done a very good job of those things the last several years .I think with continued improvement in those areas we could have a very good year!

Dover will need to bring it game in and game out as always, starting tonight vs a very difficult opponenet.

Maybe Pick Cent and Wooster aren't the best, maybe they are world beaters. I would imagine Pick Cent has some talent and skill that Dover does not get to see in practice, so getting to play against people like that should help them prepare for the season and get better, which is the ultimate goal day and day out.

Tonight will be a true test, the real lights are on, every snap counts.
