5 of the teams are undefeated. I would think Alder and Alter are perennial favorites, but I don't k ow how you can discount any body of work the undefeated teams have put together. Going to be some great football coming up.

Shawnee is a favorite as well. The Braves have been to the Regional Final in R12 just two years ago. They throttled a solid Tipp City team in Week 10 as well. Look out for the Braves. I like Alter, Shawnee, and JA in that order but all are very close.

A side note, TM should beat Ponitz tonight which will flip flop Alter and TM. Alter will be heading to Welcome Stadium next week.

Alder wins handedly in round 1 and then will get destroyed (3 TDs) by Alter.

not to nit pick but, as Alter is a #4 or 5 seed and JA is #2 or 3, the two cannot meet until the regional finals. So we will have to wait until Week 13 for Alter to have the opportunity to attempt to destroy Alder by 3 TDs (a very tall order from what I've witnessed of JA's defense all year).

Until then, I'm sure that the Pioneers are more concerned with the upcoming Jackson/Logan Elm matchup. And the Knights are more concerned with their date with Thurgood Marshall.

I think Logan Elm caught a real break. About the best scenario that could happen with a loss in week 10. Winning would have been a Logan Elm vs Alter match up.
I guess it's on to Welcome stadium to see what TM has.

I could tell you had your fingers crossed for a Logan Elm matchup all week from your posts. If your team is as good as you think you are it shouldn't matter who you play.

I would say Shawnee is maybe a little over rated here barely beating a Urbana team that had to go 3 OT to beat London a Team J.A. destroyed 41-7 and wasnt even that close and Shawnee barely beat a Div 6 opponent SCC.

I would say J.A. has probably the best defense in this region as long as they dont play a power running team like Alter, JA 1st team Defense only gave up scores in 2 games all season I think to Clinton Massie and last night to Watterson

Overrated, really? Just throttled the #8 D2 team in the state. Gave up 61 total yards for the game. 6 turnovers against Urbana and still won. Doesn't matter how you are playing at the beginning, it only matters at the end. Believe me you don't want to see Shawnee. They will win this region with ease. You can take that to the bank.

do you mean that Div 2 team that gave up over 200 points this year ? and did you mean over 260 yards to Urbana according to Dayton Dailey News?

Heard a rumor and was wondering if it was true. Did Taft play an out-of-state team the first game of the season that wasn't sanctioned by OHSAA? and how does that factor in to playoff picture if true? Would it only count if they played 9 games? What is the scenario?

Alter vs. TM is one of the more interesting match ups in the first round. TM is a team we know is talented but doesn't get a lot of pub. I think they'll meet this challenge head on against Alter. I think Knights will win but it won't be easy. TM beat CJ 21-0 in Week 2.

Obviously JA and Alter are two of the favored teams in this region. However, people need to realize how good Shawnee is. The Braves were in the regional final two years ago. They just dismantled a good Tipp City team. I think the Braves will give JA and Alter all they can handle.

Alder may be playing without their 2 best playmakers in at least round 1. Nothing will be easy. Thinking of Alter is ridiculous at this point.

Pioneers are deep and strong.. granted 2 playmakers might be out.. but there are playmakers waiting to get the ball..

Springfield Shawnee.. not sure where that is???? seriously i'll have to google it..
The road goes throught ALTER..

This is the best Pioneer defense we've seen since 06 State Final.. Good size, depth, speed.. Shut down corners on both sides, solid defensive front line with a beast upfront (41) that NOBODY has been able to contain.. Double team him and that free's up 1 or 2 other to fly to the ball.

Offensive side.. ALDER CAN RUN THE BALL WITH ABOUT 3 or 4 DIFFERENT BACKS BACK THERE.. READ THAT.. Pioneers are loaded with skill kids they just need a chance to put the ball in their hands..

Do not discount Springfield Shawnee because of a close won over DVI Springfield Catholic Central. They are rivals and always play close games. Shawnee lost to them in '05 and made it to the regional finals and barely won in '09 and made it to the regional finals as well. They typicall improve as the year goes on.
