Default Toledo St. Johns (6-3) vs Toledo St. Francis (3-6) - 10-23-2011, 07:50 PM

Disappointing season for both these teams who came in with high expectations. Both teams are mathematically eliminated from any chance at the playoffs, but this is still one of the most heated and emotional rivalries in Northwest Ohio. Any thoughts on who wins this game?

Typical SFS crap. They tried to poke Central Catholic's RB eyes out in the second half and called out starting QB the N word the entire game and that includes the SFS coaches son. Funny how when SFS was beating up on CCHS and SJJ years back there were never any issues but now that SFS is on the losing end of these games their kids and staff act the way they do. People wonder why SFS can't attack a more diverse student body but why would any kid of color consider a school when calling the other teams players racial slurs is so acceptable?

More proof how things are still the same at SFS:

Look at question 3:

For the past 5-6 seasons I've watched SF become the dirtiest team around. There is nothing more disgusting than watching a program like that stoop to that level. It is bad enough when they are winning and acting that way but it looks pitifully sad when a team behaves that way when they are losing. Is what is more shameful is their on field behavior is apparent to anyone in the stands and their coaches say nothing and in saying nothing tells the kids its ok. Watching Father Olszewski watch it all and say nothing is even more disturbing.

Last night at the CCHS/Whitmer game I watched Coach Dempsey do a Lou Holtz impersonation and run onto the field and pull one of his kids off by his face-mask for getting overly chippy (Whitmer kids were as well). I was impressed with that.

I hear the SJ/SF coaches had a post game spat last night? I'm sure it had to do with the 11 personal fouls...

Your mistaken, this has been going on at SFS for years, on the court and on the football field. Don't mask the issue by bringing any other school into this. The behavior of the kids is a reflection of the school and administration.

I wouldn't say for years, and almost every team in the state plays dirty, but I will agree with Irish Buffalo that the past few years (5-6) SFS has played very dirty. Im a SFS fan and I was appalled at some of the dirty play that was going on during the Clay game. It almost cost them a 17 point lead they had built in the first quarter. As far as them calling Keiser the N word, Im going to have to call BS on that considering SFS actually has more blacks on the team then when I was in high school. So basically you're saying these kids are calling the CCHS QB the N word when they have blacks as teammates? BTW, what ever Shawn Reid says I'd take with a grain of salt. Plus why would any kid (black or white) go to SFS to be a QB? One thing for sure that hasn't changed at SFS is the QB taking the snap and handing it off to the RB over 25 times a game. What I don't understand is that they have former players from the 01 state championship team coaching them, and this team isn't winning and playing dirty. Id figure they would atleast teach them on how to win, because most of those coaches are winners and class act guys. As Ive said before, SFS will always be a middle of the pack team as long as Bloc is the head coach, and they'll probably never beat Whitmer, CCHS or SJ as long as he is coach.

Call BS all day buddy, I was on the field and heard it. Ask your Franny buddies if they ever had to write an apology letter to the Central Catholic team after the game Brad Rogers senior year for calling the Central Catholic's blacks the N word the entire game. Keep being in denial just like the leaders of the school and the problem never goes away.

I don't know anything about the "N" word being used, but I did speak with several friends who graduated from SFS who were at the game and they said they were shocked at how dirty the Knights played. If this is indeed what is going on the coaches and administration need to get the ship righted ASAP.

Who are you? How can we believe you since you're a Central homer? You mean to tell me these kids were yelling the N word, but their star tailback is black? You mean to tell me not once the officials of a high school game didn't try to intervene when an inappropriate racial slur was thrown. No one is being in denial, but things aren't adding up. As far as them playing dirty, that assessment is correct.

As a St. Francis grad and former athlete what D Bialorucki is saying really disturbs me. As much as I understand and would like to agree with roythetruth; because St. Francis did have more diversity on this years team then I have seen recently, what D Bialorucki is saying can not be completely written off.

I have heard that St. Francis players were using the N word towards Central players in either 2008 or 09 from the father of a current Central Catholic varsity football player and it influenced his son not to attend SFS. When you hear things like this over and over its hard to just write them all off, and as an alumnus this really disturbs me.

The coaches really need to look into these things and get control of the program moving forward. This image and behavior is not what St. Francis High School is about and is not what I saw or experienced when I attended the school, which was before these last 6 years.
The football program needs to clean up its public image and sportsmanship or SFS will continue to lose a lot of talent, both black and white to Central and St. Johns.
