From what I'm hearing the Irish need to win and to have 3 of these teams lose to get in! It maybe a long shot but none of these teams are that dominating that they can't lose. Plus I know some of these games are rivalry games and you never know what can happen in these type games.
Crestview - vs Lisbon (1-8)
Cuyahoga Hts. - vs Independence (4-5)
Campbell - vs Struthers (4-5)
Aquinas - Canton CC (8-1)
Southern - Sebring (4-5)
Columbiana - M Ridge (4-5)
Springfield - United (3-6)
Garaway - Strasburg (5-4)

Anything is possible! I have a hard time believing Sebring will beat Southern! Struthers vs Campbell(Rivalry) and Aquinas could definately lose. Also, I wouldn't put my $ on Springfield Local to win either.

If Ursuline doesn't get in (I hope they do) there will be a lot of D5 playoff-bound schools thanking their lucky stars that they didn't. After that schedule, the D5 playoffs would be a break for the Irish.

Maybe in your mind or those of other Irish fans, but I guarantee you there'll be no asterisk on a lot of people's minds. I'll venture to guess that not too many people, in the grand scheme of things, will put an asterisk next to the 2011 D-V champs' name with the footnote *but they didn't play Ursuline.
Don't get me wrong, I repect your program a ton. We've matched up three times, and you've won all three. Doesn't mean our accomplishments are worth any less, or anybody elses would be worth any less, just by playing or not playing the Irish.

I'm with you on this my friend. If Ursuline doesn't get in the playoffs there should be no asterick , because the Irish will have no one to blame but themselves. They have made way to many mistakes in the games they lost this year,(-10 on the giveaways) if they would have played like they did Friday night they would be in the playoffs already. Though I chose to believe and have faith that something good is going to happen this weekend and they will get in.

ifs and buts are for losers. If the Irish dont make it its because they dont belong there with six losses, no matter who they played or didnt play.
That being said, I hope they do make it....you kinda get used to going to the state finals every year after a while.

I'd hazard these 'what if' people are a bunch of drive-by fans/prognosticators. You get to be champion by getting to the playoffs and winning. If we fail to get there, we fail, and someone else is champion. No excuses, no exceptions, no asterisks.

The vast, vast majority of Ursuline fans feel the same way as has been enuciated here. If Ursuline does not make the playoffs, there will be no hand-wringing and whining.
Just like in 2006, they will be back working hard to return to where they want to be.
That is the Ursuline way. In football and in all sports and all facets of life. That is why we are so typically successful in everything we do.

I agree you will not here me or most other Ursuline fans whining, Yes they did play a rough schedule but were in all the games and if they didn't have so many "unforced errors" would probably have won a few more!

You're playing underclassmen..deal with it and move on....I personally do not wish to deal with the what ifs or hoping on other teams...We are Ursuline...we will be back!
