Steubenville Central @ Oak Glen -

They need to play four quarters of football again! If they do,i think they will gain a lot of respect that they deserve, win or lose.

Wish the best to the Crusaders, in days of old "Crusader Pride" would have made this a close one. Re-capture that PRIDE and give them all you got, if not, it's going to be ugly...you owe yourselves and your parents more than that.

4cards - thanks, brother!
As for tonight's game, and this year's edition of the Crusaders, I've seen a lot of heart from these kids and, despite all the naysayers and agenda pushers' opinions to the contrary, this coaching staff has done a good job at addressing many of the issues that were cited as problems with our program by the same people who are now saying that the current coaching staff is the problem.
You just can't please some people so don't even try. To the coaches and players, best of luck tonight and keep fighting.

35-27 Oak Glen. Central offense played well, but defense just couldn't stop Oak Glen's QB and big punt return by Hissam was key. Frustrating loss but anyone who doubts these kids' "courage, character, heart or spirit" is way off-base.
There are always things that can be improved but the program is headed in the right direction. And it will continue to do so if people continue to support it instead of looking to find fault at every turn.

If Michael Floyd would have played like Herrington tonight against USC I wouldn't be going to bed wanting to kick my dog.
Very very frustrating loss tonight against a 1 trick pony but part of maturing as players and a program is learning from the sting of not being able to take over a game that's ripe for the picking.
I hope the younger kids absorb this and keep the memory in the back of their heads in years to come so when the next chance to deliver knockouts present themselves we take advantage as we're capable of doing.

I agree the Crusader program in on the right track and 2012 should be a better year. But, keep in mind the 3 victories this year came against teams with a combined total of 4 wins. AD Daley may want to continue to tweak the schedule, dropping Labrae and Bellaire, for example, until the program gets back where it needs to be.
Calling Oak Glen a 1 Trick Pony is a little unfair. Their 4-5 passing attack was enough to supplement their 328 yards rushing. The Crusaders did have 307 yards passing, but a negative 23 rushing. Maybe one 1 Trick Pony beat another 1 Trick Pony. Oak Glen's 126 yards in penalties kept this game as close as it was.
Best of luck to the Crusaders next week.

They ran QB keeper 85% of the time and most of the times they tried to pass we sacked them. It wasn't a complicated offense, we just didn't properly spy the QB and dedicate 2 people to putting him in the ground every time he took off with it.

Speaking of penalties keeping the game as close as it was, or impacting the result, would that include those that brought back two Central touchdowns on the same drive?

I think against a team like oak glen you need to move #11 to corner, play without a safety, man up the recievers and put in another LB(#44). I'm not sure what the deal is but I can't tell you the last time a central FB didn't also play LB. It would also be my guess that if you threw all the defense in a cage #44 would be the last one standing. Can anyone shed some light on this subject.
