This will be a good test for both teams!
I really can't wait to see Williams (QB) for Westfall in action in a game scenario.
This will be a good test for the young gunz of WJ on D to see if they can slow down the high powered offense of Westfall.

Looking forward to see what WJ is bringing this year. Hope to see a good show vs Westfall and their QB.

Westfall QB is Williamson, not Williams. Will be good test for both clubs.

These scrimmages prove hard to follow when coaches are switching so many in and out, and no #'s, seen some great potential with the underclassmen, hope they gel a little this week. But no worries, we were all saying this at the beginning of last year. I'm keeping my hopes up. Go Riders!

Well, the only thing I got out of the scrimmage tonight was that the defense for both teams need some work.
The scrimmage went,
WJ- 30
WF- 20
WJ kicker did have a 35 yard FG that sailed through right before the half that would of been good from easily 45 yards.
WF's offense was pretty much all QB, Williamson.
He did have several good runs and he run over a few people as well.
WJ's offense was a little more spread around as in several different boys found the endzone.
Even the new kid, Casto, he turned a 5 yard catch over the middle into a 50+ yard TD run.
I will still say that the QB spot needs some work and I don't think the best candidate is there doing the job, but!
Another issue for WJ is you have boys trying to make 1 hand catches, the penalties & fighting again in this scrimmage.
There was another captain pulled out tonight for pushing right after both players and teams were warned for jawing.
This has to stop because there is going to be no leadership within this team this year if this continues.
This has been the worst Buescher team for this since he has been here.
These kids are getting beat on some plays and going off at the 1st thing an opponent says instead of using that on the field.
Let your coaches do the adjustments and get you in the right places to make the plays and quit being freakin BABIES!
I would say that this week will be an awful hard week of practice, but I still see promise there for our young Roughriders.

Yeah, I heard this scrimmage was very physical and that the referees may have been the same ones who did the China-Georgetown game the other day...lost some control.

no the ref was that powers guy. he hates wj....always has always will. as far as the game went. no leadership!! plain and simple. i hate to bash a kid but Ginn needs to be set straight. he was the same way last year and its gotten worse this year as shown by the ejection last night!!! the roughriders need to quit the crying and play!!! the Offensive Line looked like they wasnt there to kick ass. As Coach B would call it, "You Gotta be Nasty" and they wasnt last night. Wj D is known for stopping the run, not last night. i have one word for them, IMPROVE. meaning all aspects of the game. Next week should be a win for wj vs burg. from what im hearing from there townies its the worst team theyve had in 20 years

I believe that West Jeff has some good young players who could see time if the defensive unit doesn't pick it up; linebackers and corners especially; we can't expect a team to go undefeated every year; but this team seems to play better when they get fired up like in the 3rd quarter of the scrimmage last night. Coach will get results.

I haven't had time to get my pics on here yet, but WJfan did. Nice pics!
The fog at the very end of the 3rd qtr kind of summed up the scrimmage, almost a horror movie!
I forgot to mention the refs in my post above just how bad they were for just a scrimmage but at least someone did.
Powers (the head ref) has something else to hate WJ for know.
From what I heard, Casto's mom works with the guy and as bad as he hates WJ, he didn't like for Seth moving out here. Like it matters!
Well, anyways, 2 scrimmages so far and 2 captains have been either taken out or kicked out.
Not a good trend and definitely not WJ football!
Westfall is predicted to win their league this season so if that is any bright spot, if any?

heard the same thing RRP. powers is a ref that has changed games when ever he refs/umps any WJ sport. Ask former softball head coach brian curtis about him!!! i seen him yelling from the stands telling him to get off the field. reason for that, powers changed alot of his games while coaching. ask Baseball coach Jason Turner, Basketball coach Bob Hunter, Wrestling Coach Mike Branham, all have beef with this ref/ump.

I saw many penalties called against both teams; didn't see any bias

But most of the penalties were jokes.
Like the hit to the head on the QB that he called on WJ that really got their crowd fired up.
Horrible call, clean hit their sidelines couldn't see it and should of been explained to their coach. Powers should of explained to their sideline.
Suffjo, the calls went equal ways and that is why these kids started to get nuts because the calls were crazy and they couldn't play.
Refs clear the field and don't go to each sideline?
I know I have been on ref crews before, but these guys didn't need to sell food.
If that was a real game it would of been a bench clearer.
If this guy teaches ref classes then I should, I think they made an impact Friday night and something might get done, finally!
And I have to think that this guy also works for the state! WOW!
