Default Boardman WR Dayne Hammond transfers to Warren Harding - 08-10-2011, 01:09 PM

I seen this in the Tribune today. Im surprised by the move, and also wondering how he is allowed to play with the transfer rules. Anyone know anything more about this?

Interesting, WFMJ sports reported that the transfer has been denied. So if he now lives in Warren, how can he play for Boardman?

State ruled friday , denied the move.
Heard Boardman players are voting saturday whether or not to take him back onthe team IF the school system accepts him back, but if you were a boardman senior would you want him on your team?
could get really rough for the kid, maybe he needs some Catholic intervention in his life ( Mooney or ursilene ) who can dial the phone faster....LOL

What do you mean denied the move? This is a free country, if the parents, and kid want to move to Warren thats their business.

If he was with "other" relatives that could be a problem

I can tell you neither will take him, and it's spelled Ursuline.

Maybe he tries Canfield next if he doesn't go back to Boardman. His father has a house there.

The state ruled he is inelligable to play football. The rule states if a player moves into a district for sports reasons only the state can declare him inelligable and the player must sit for one year. He is allowed to go to school there since he"moved" into the district but just not allowed to play sports.
As he stated i a recient article in the tribune, he "moved" to warren for the Warren experience, they I guess he is staying for school then then huh?
since it wasn't for sports reasons.

Kids move all the time into other districts, and play sports that year, why is this an exception. There is no clear proof it is just for sports.

Guess playing on the 7 on 7s for Boardman and making the change late makes a difference. Just leaves a bad taste in everyones mouth. Can you imagine the uproar if your best player Jaylyn Powell transfered to Howland at the last minute.

Funny how the family doesnt know about the ruling. Ya right! Can anyone just be honest in todays world....

I will admit this is late for doing this kind of move. There must be reason why he decided to leave Boardman, and come to Harding. I still do not know the reasons, I have heard a few things, but they could be false, so I won't post them.

Another thing Harding is loaded with talent at WR. So I don't understand the move from that standpoint. If Harding wanted to recruit they would be bringing in players at a position where they have less talent.

Mooney does not want him I think Howland needs him.
