^^Problem with them is, they've had the same "traditions" for over 40 years. They don't have the talent to keep running that stuff. If he can change stuff up a little, they might have a chance. But if they stay the same, I don't see anything better than a .500 season.

Massie and Trace will compete for the league this year. WCH, London and Hillsboro will all compete for 3rd. EC, McClain and Plains will fight to stay out of the cellar. My darkhorse is EC. They have a real shot at going 4-3 in league play.

Massie has proven that you can run the football and win in this league. I know most people do not share my feeling that "talent" at the hs level is less important than good coaching, but i believe it whole heartedly. Isn;tit amazing how great hs football coaches seem to have such a consistent stream of "talent" come through their school, when the years previous to the coaches arrival.. and the years that follow a great coaches departure see a noticeable decline in that "talent". Hopw fortunate for McSorley that after years of average "talent" at C-M, they now have a continuous stream of it. Same for Al Hetrick in his 30 years of winning at Versailles, I guess. Just lucky he had "talent" every year for 30 straight seasons....my guess is that Trace's "talent" will improve pretty dramatically over the next few seasons

I think the trace kids are buying in completely to what Coach Bartlett is selling
They are getting almost 50 kids a day at summer workouts. This was unheard of the last couple of years. I have not talked to anyone who strictly wants a wide open attack offensively for just the same of a wide open attack. The kids and the parents just want to win wheather he runs it or passes it. This team will be better than what anybody outside of the program thinks they will.

Down here, South Point runs the wishbone as well and always seems to win the league. It's crazy how just one type of playbook can play a huge role in a team's success.

for those of you who think a balanced attacked is a necessity in HS football, here are a couple of facts for you...in the 2009 championship games... Hilliard Davidson won D1 completing 0 passes on 2 attempts for 0 yards. Winton Woods, won d2...2-2-28 yds, Alter, d4, 1-4-17yds, Norwalk St Paul d6... 3-8-23 yds..Mooney d3...5-7-109 yds... and the anomaly Coldwater.. d5.. 40-55-414yds.....

there are exceptions, but running the ball is the key to success in hs football... 3 of the 2011 state champs threw for fewer than 60 yards ( and of those one threw for only 11yds. )....
2010 was the exception in the past 10 seasons as 4 of the division winners threw for over 100 yards each...although only one of them threw for more than 136 yds...

The thing is nc these kids have been through so much crap with the old coaching staff, you have to root for them. I think they shine with some leadership.

^^Believe it or not, I used to go there. This graduating senior class used to be my classmates; I used to be a part of all this. So I see exactly what you're saying. Love to see a little light shine from these guys as this program is used to seeing winning seasons.

CH house went to Jackson Tuesday for 7 v7's...Other teams there was Minford, and Chesepeake.....Ch looked like the better team out of all the teams which surprised me....Williams for CH was throwing the ball really good.

Who were the main receivers for WCH? That is the position where I think the will struggle this year.

May, Pettiford, Leisure, Jackson, Sparkman, and Zurface who transfered from Clinton Massie...I think they will be a better team than ppl think...If they can perform on defense. If Willaims can spread the ball out like I know he can, then hopefully his Wideouts catch the ball and make some plays.

Court Houses schedule is favorable to them this year dropped Logan Elm for Wilmington and dropped the powerhouse alder for East Clinton Adena will be down this year lost a lot of talent this team has the potential to be 7-3 if they work hard Massie will be tough as always o-town will be a good game with their new coach and as much as I hate to say it Trace may be the team to beat in the league I have talked to some of the kids from out there and they are ready to go with their new coach, working very hard, I think they will win 7-8 games. Hope Court House can put another W in the books against that team in the cornfields!!!!!!

I think there is still a lot of good talent at CH...Ive been going to the 7 v 7's, and they have been one of the better teams everytime they have played. Their last 7 v 7 is down at Jackson 2morrow...I know you cant base how a team will do, just based on 7 v 7's, but I think they could win 7 or 8 games this yr..Hopefully they can test Massie with a new offense.

I think that the problem for court house will be these two big areas, the inability to have a stable pass game to where teams are not puting 10 guys in the box and our inability to play special teams. Hard to win football games when the opposing team starts from the 40 or 50 yard line every time and court house starts around the 15 or 20
