No one who actually follows Central Ohio basketball will be surprised.

I don't follow either team during the year, but lots of people on here were saying that Hartley looks pretty good. Lakewood sure doesn't have the quality record that Hartley has.

I follow Central Ohio basketball a lot and I am very surprised.I know it is the tourny, but Hartley might have been playing the best ball of anyone coming into the post season. They beat Desales and Watterson away.I agree with Zwinsters that a lot of people thought Hartley was going to upset Olentangy. It is tourny time anything can happen.

^Classic case of looking ahead IMO. They're kids and it happens. On that note though, Lakewood doesn't have the "great record" that Hartley does, but it's not because the Lancers lack talent. What they've lacked all year is consistency. But they do have several talented players, including one of the best shooters you'll see, especially when she gets hot in Tosha Henderson. They're one of those teams that MOST of the time, they're able to be beaten, BUT if you catch them on a game where they actually hit their shots and are putting it all together, as it seems Hartley did, then they are capable of beating some good teams. They've won less than 50% of their games this year, but some of those wins were over teams that are better than they are. Add another to that list.

not sure what Hong Kong was referring to, but yes it was a surprise to many if not most people who do follow Central Ohio basketball. However, this is not one of the stronger years for the Central Catholic League either, and yes, it is 'tournament time" where upsets do happen.

Definitely surprised that it was Lakewood that knocked them off, but I raised questions about some of the opinions on another topic that continued to insist that Hartley was some special team. The quote continued to stand out that people would have to beware of the tricky-zone defense. I know when I watched them play I saw an average to below average team at best. There was no way they were beating Olentangy and the notion that they beat DeSales said absolutely nothing either. DeSales as mentioned before is an extremely flawed team, and those people that think they're (DeSales)doing great by squeaking out a 3 point victory over Bexley is some accomplishment. Id definitely like to pluck some information from you in regards to what stood out to you about either of these teams. (DeSales, Bexley, Hartley).... Come on Hartley... Lakewood???

Bradley is a very good team, so we will see just how good DeSales really is.

Completely agree Zwinsters.. Bradley is good, beatable, but definitely a good team. If DeSales beat them I'd consider that to be a pretty good sized upset. I've watched Bradley play and DeSales as well, and Bradley is very well coached and whatever their coach is selling, the players are buying. DeSales has some talent too, but not nearly the consistency and chemistry that Bradley has IMO
