Default MSL 2011-2012 Top Teams, Top Players - 02-02-2011, 11:42 PM

Who will be the top teams in the MSL next year? With the top teams this year graduating alot of seniors such as Harvest Prep and Carroll, what teams will move to the front of the class next season? Who will be the top players in their respective divisions of the MSL? What players from next years senior class will get looks from colleges whether it be D1, D2, or D3?

In the MSL-Ohio, Granville looks to be the strongest returning team. They have a few key seniors, but with what the rest of their division graduates (Blair from Newark Catholic, Overbey from Licking Valley, and one of the Crooms, Tavia I think and Waddell both from Heath), it's hard not to see them at the top of the league again with several talented young players returning. Plus, they have a good coach. They're still in the MSL-Ohio race this season despite playing most of the league schedule without senior standout Lacey Buckey due to injury.

"The name on the front of that jersey, is a hell of a lot more important than the one on the back"

Cardinal is going to be interesting. Harvest will lose some pivotal players so it's really wide open but I expect it to go like 1.) Harvest Prep 2.) West Jeff 3.) Liberty Union 4.) Fisher Catholic 5.) Grandview Heights 6.) Berne Union 7.) Licking Heights 8.) Millersport

I respect your opinion, but feel that Harvest Prep is losing all the punch from this years team of outstanding players. After graduation they will be left with the two Francis girls and that will be about it. I agree with most of your order, but here is mine:
1. Liberty Union
2. Harvest Prep
3. West Jeff
4. Fisher Catholic
5. Grandview Heights
6. Berne Union
7. Licking Heights
8. Millersport

Who do you think will be the top players from these teams next year?

I haven't seen much of HP to make that much of a judgement of their depth but in theory they would have a deep bench.

I see some combo of LU, HP, WJ in 1, 2, 3 in no particular order.

Kirkbride for LU I feel will have a really good year next year.

Until someone beats Prep, you still have to go with them as the favorites, not saying they will win it, but with their history and the pieces(in the Francis twins) coming back, you have to make them favorites, but not the hands down winners like the last couple of years. Here is my list of contenders(10 months before the season opens).

1. HP
2. LU
3. WJ
4. LH
5. BU
6. FC
7. GH
8. MP

lilbro80, You have some good points. Have you seen enough games in the league this year to say who some of the top players will be next year?

You expect LH to make such a rebound in two years?
