Default Coaches on the Hotseat or Stepping Down - 01-31-2011, 12:23 PM

Anyone know of any coaches leaving the program or going to be forced to do so this off season?

Bruce Pearl might have to go with all the trouble at Tennessee?

Looks like Coach Hites @ Lancaster is going to get the boot.

Sorry guys, but this is not the place to start any rumors. Coaches deserve the decency to be able to coach until the end of the season without ridicule and having to deal with the crap. Don't be a pot stirrer. If something opens up, THEN huddlers can comment.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey, I saw what you did there.

Take a shot at Bruce Pearl, then shut the door so no one else is allowed to comment.

If a coach is concerned about what a bunch a hacks toss around on a forum then their focus is in the wrong spot anyway. I think you give yourself and the rest of the people on here way too much credit. We aren't going to cause a big turnover of coaches just because "we say so" and my guess is we aren't going to make world peace or fix global warming but most of us think we can so we will continue to debate it. GoUNC....no one is forcing you to take part in this thread or any other for that matter. I respect your comment so I suggest you find a thread that is ethically safer for you.

I really agree with a couple points. I know many former and current assistant coaches and 2 head high school coaches. I have always had a tough time being critical of a h.s. coach unless he or she is completely unethical and or immoral. The ones that I know of (and I am sure many of you do to) work their tails off and have nothing but good intentions for the boys and girls they coach. With that said, I think coaches have to know what they are getting into these days and I am sure most of them do. So many opinions can be made public for all eyes to see, and if someone does not produce, they may get called out on it. I for one, am not comfortable calling out coaches, but I do not have children playing high school athletics either.

The thread is about who is or probably is going to be gone after this year. If people were asked who should be the list could be long.

What do you do for a living? How would you like people criticizing you and the job you do on a public forum? You are entitled to your opinion as am I, I just think some people have class and others do not. I am glad you are so concerned for me though.

I am pretty sure the Marion Harding coach is safe.

I don't think I'm showing any concern for you.....So what you are saying is that all these threads where people question how the games go and are second guessing coaching decisions should be deleted because it might hurt the coaches feelings? Again, giving too much credit. If in my job I listened to every hack, most of whom can't carry my gym bag, rag on me about the way I do my job the range of good and bad would probably be widespread. I still have a job, am good at it and the guys who would dig me behind my back still come to me when they need help. If I am doing my job and doing it well then some forum no it all isn't going to change that and I wouldn't have any reason to be offended. I would probably get a kick out of the guy who can't even lace up basketball shoes trying to tell me how to do my job and deciding whether or not I should have a job because Billy isn't playing enough and he's got NBA talent even though he can't guard my MOM. You disagree with this thread but you are still reading it. And you even knocked on Pearl or do only HS coaches have feelings. College coaches are free game? Make up your righteous mind

I stand by my comment. Lancaster is 2-14 this year and last year wasn't anything to brag home about.

Look at the Lancaster 2011 thread on here. It is obvious no one is happy with how Hites is leading the Gales.

It would different if they hit a lull and have no talent or injuries but I agree. In college he would be gone and high school is getting that way too. I don't know their situation but it may be time for a change

I know there were two kids that would be seniors this year that transferred out of Lancaster into neighboring schools that were on Lancaster's varsity/JV.

I sure hope he isn't, but the irrationality at Lancaster would push it to the max.

He seems like he's just in the bad half of a cycle. I'd like to see Hites at Lancaster, he needs more time, but I really doubt Lancaster is still going to tolerate him.
