Default reporting the score - 01-30-2011, 10:17 AM

I know generally the home team has the duty of calling in the score of the game, last night I was at game and final score was 74-68 I looked at the paper this morning and the score was listed as 73-72 how do you explain this discrepancy?

There are times that numbers get messed up. They get a lot of games in and sometimes it just happens. Probably had another games score for some reason. It is fairly common. I highly doubt the person calling in the score intentionally was misleading.

Because they used the AP wire, who consistently gets as many scores wrong as they do right.

I was at a game Saturday and our announcer announced Ohio Sate had beaten Penn State and gave the wrong score. At least we knew who won, of course the AP doesn't always get that right. And yes I know we played Northwestern.
