I heard yesterday that Toledo just has too much on their plate with hosting a mens and womens pre-season tourney at Savage Hall, cannot coordinate all the parking, concessions, security with 2 large events at same time with only a 1000 feet between them trying to share facilities, Toledo def did want the football event.

BGSU is a great facility. I'm thrilled that OHSAA is letting us have a college stadium and not limiting us to a high school one. Doyt Perry Stadium holds more than 28,599 according to their website. I know both sides have dedicated fans. Let's fill it up and prove to OHSAA that they made the right choice in getting us a large venue. Both teams have improved since the week 5 game, with 7 more games under their belts. This will be a GREAT match-up, but I'm calling Whitmer to win, of course Go...PANTHERS!

St. Johns has still not proven they can stop the run as medina racked up many yards.I see this one as Whitmer 42 St Johns 21

I didn't see the game so I don't understand how Medina "racked up many yards" and only scored 6 points. Did SJJ get a lot of turnovers?

GR8ONE -SJJ defense bent but did not break. They proved that they could stop the run. To my recollection Medina never found the endzone against the Johnnies! The Johnnies defense was the "player of the game."

If I knew now what I didn't know several weeks ago, I would have kept the poll open all the way to elimination of any remaining City League teams. Two in the Regional Finals is as good as it gets. Nice job, boys!

One running back for Medina had 160+ yards.
Medina shot themselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers and bad play calls. This and being a one dimensional team(running) were easy to defend.Whitmer is not that type of team.

As I Mentioned before, NW Ohio Has top ranked High School Football, Along with other Sports.(St Ursula-Vollyball state Champs). After Saturday one Toledo Team will be playing in the D-1, final four to represent NW Ohio.
I ask the same Question; Why not Whitmer ?

GOOD LUCK PANTHERS.

Default Help for fellow Panther alum? - 11-16-2010, 08:29 PM

Hello fellow Panthers and alums, I am a Whitmer class of "way too long ago" alum (anyone remember Coach and Doak Decker?). I live in Columbus and my son plays for Watterson. We face the mighty Tornados of Tiffin Columbian Saturday, and I am told that the Panthers are the only team to beat them this year. What is the secret? I promise I won't tell anybody but our coaches. Good luck against the Johnnies (although my best man was a johnnie). GO PANTHERS!!

SPEED.Whitmer has one of the fastest teams in the state on offense and defense from tackles to running backs and a great team chemistry. The early season loss was the best thing that ever happened to them as they became a solid unit with senior leadership and this is why they will make a run at the state championship.
