Both teams with major turn arounds this year! This game has a lot of playoff implications as the winner should be playing next week, but the loser might stay home. Another big test for the Wapak D.

I'm taking Wapak in this game. I think the defense will be able to slow down Elida's attack. The question is will Elida be able to hold down Wapak's running game.

After Coach Frye's comment in the paper this is Wapak's second big test to see how far they have come. They battled Kenton for 3 quarters but as you know they play 4. Now with a state playoff berth at stake can Wapak step up and win a big game. I have alot of faith in these kids and coach Frye not to thrilled with some of his asst. coaches but I hope they bring home a win.

Ill go with Wapak..... By far a better D then Elida....Also comming off a hard fought game with Kenton that they could have won?? Either way the best game in the WBL...Coach Frye is the X factor...

I think Elida's D isn't to bad against the run, it's the passing teams they have struggled with. Wapak's D has had some trouble against the pass too. I don't think Elida has seen a running game as strong as Wapak's but the Elida QB was very impressive when I saw him. Gonna be a good one, I agree with KHS 86 it's the WBL game of the week, but I'm taking Elida in a close one.

I don't know too much about the Elida D, but Wapak needs to learn to block on the edges. Last week they were getting stuffed on the middle runs, but kept doing it, especially in the second half. Everytime they ran outside, after the first TD run, the RBs were stretched to the sidelines by multiple defenders. There's no second level blocking! It's too easy for teams to load the box against Erb and let their LBs and safeties take the outside runs. That's why Frye has tried to use the pass just to keep the LBs and safeties from storming the line, but last week they were in backfield from the outside blitzes before the Wapak QB could even look downfield.

I think there needs to be more of an established number one back also. Giving Erb and Pickens 20 carries each sounds great in theory, but both of these guys are the type of runners that get better as the game goes on and they are more involved. Neither one of them ever get a chance to get in a rhythm this way..

Wapak is a good team, but to be great like Frye kept talking about in the paper there needs to be some little changes to take advantage of their strengths imo.

Wapak is gonna have to win a shootout to win this one I think and their offense is not geared for winning a shootout. This is true though with any power running game. We'll have to see.

The biggest thing I keep having to remind myself is this is YEAR 1 of having Frye as coach. I thought for sure a 500 season at best as a new offense and new lifting program was established. Wait till these kids have 3 or 4 years in the program one thing I hope is with St. Marys always seemed to be power but not much speed which I think Wapak has always had alot of speed.

Way to go Bulldogs. Wapak fought their way back into it, you took their best punch and hit right back with a big TD pass. Speed kills. Wapak has a nice play off caliber ball club, would hate to see them miss out.
