Week 5: The battle of the Grove's. Groveport Madison @ Grove City -
09-18-2010, 07:04 PM
The Cruisers are coming off a 23-20 win over the Panthers of Pickerington North, while the Dawgs got there 1st win of the year beating Reynoldsburg 39-28. Grove City will be at full strength as they got all 11 suspended players back last week.
Will the Cruisers improve to 5-0 or will the Dawgs stop the streak?

IF Grove City is has everyone back and is at full strength it will be a game. If not then the Port cruises. In any event, I think GP beats the pups.

Bell did look very good. But why do they list him from Reynoldsburg? That is the second game this year I seen where they said he was from Reynoldsburg. Living in the Logan area I dont know Reynoldsburg that well, but it doesnt border on Groveport does it? It would be nice for Groveport to get some of that love on National T.V.

Yes it actually does, alot of kids that go to Groveport have a Reynoldsburg mailing address. Groveport has a very big schools district, with kids having Columbus, Reynoldsburg, Groveport and Obetz as mailing addresses.

Good point. The Pickerington Local School District includes areas with Reynoldsburg, Canal Winchester, Baltimore, and Carroll mailing addresses. There might even an area with a Columbus address.

I'm pulling for Groveport in this one. Grove City is dangerous now that everyone is back, but I'm impressed with Groveports body of work so far this year.
I expect to have a battle of unbeatens in week 6 when the Cruisers come to Tiger Stadium.

Since this one is at the Dawg Pound, I think GC will keep it competitive, but Groveport has been on a roll that I don't expect to see stop this week. As much as I'd like to see another SWC school notch another victory, I think this one is all Cruisers.
BTW: Bell looked great last night. Things like that can only help the program. Keep 'em coming.

The mailing addresses have nothing to do with where they live, only the post office which the mail is funneled. Most of those living in Groveport Local with a Reynoldsburg address or Pickerington Local with a Reynoldsburg address for example (there are plenty more) are part of the "win-win" agreement instituted years ago between Columbus City schools and suburban districts. Those kids with the mailing addresses actually live in Columbus.
