Dublin Scioto 31 Kilbourne 14....Welcome home Hard Road Trophy! -

I was very glad to be wrong on my prediction on this one. Nice job bringing home the hunk of asphalt to the good end of Hard Road. First time since '06. Back and forth game early, Irish took control in the second half. 14-14 at the half. Irish went ahead in the 3rd as Soph Evan DeMars threw his first varsity TD pass. The Irish made a huge 4th down stop deep in the red zone and then added a FG to go up 24-14. The Wolves inexplicably continued to run the option while down by 2 scores with only 3 minutes left on the clock. They must be completely unable to pass?!? The WKHS fans had to have been furious. Anyway, #22 Thum from Scioto stepped in front of the pitchman on one of the bizarrely called options and took it 75 yds for the capping score. 31-14. Great win for the young Irish. A few bad miscues here and there. #24 Will Houston got his first varsity TD tonight but coughed the ball up early. He's got to protect the ball better, but he is a horse. Both #18 Andrew Weissling and #11 Jamare Mills dropped WIDE OPEN, and I mean W-I-D-E O-P-E-N passes in the end zone. They owe DeMars some circus catches next week. Congrats boys! Off to the 'Home of the Braves' next week to open OCC play and see if they can slow the 270 lb FB Greathouse.
