....in the upcoming World Championships because Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski will again be coaching this country's team?

I've never rooted against Team USA before, so my disdain for all things Duke won't change that.

Nope. Coach K is one of the best college coaches in the US. When TEAM USA tabbed him to be the coach after the horrible showing at the last olympics, I had a feeling that they would win the Gold Medal in Beijing.

Never been a fan of Duke and never will, but if you cant admire at all the accomplishments of Coach K, then you have a problem.

The Gold medal was won by Team USA in Beijing.

Just a short time ago, playing in the Olympics for your country was not on a lot of top players radar. Players like Shaq, Webber, Sprewell ect...ect... could never be bothered to play for their country. Now, thanks to Coach K getting players like LeBron and Kobe and Wade to play and play the right way, all the top young players (Durant, Rose, Roy, Griffin, ect...ect...) are begging and pleading to be invited to tryouts.

I would not call having the top 10-15 arguably in the world as coaching. I am pretty sure 90% of the coaches in D1 including women's coaches Pat Summit, or Geno Auriemma(who has a 70+ game winning streak) could do just of a good of a job if not better than Coach K. I just hope he watches those f bombs and degrading the officials like he constantly does during Duke games because those officials actually do not care about his status at Duke and college hoops. He has accomplished a lot as a coach and has the respect of NBA stars.

Uh, UNC's Larry Brown and UNC's George Karl had top players (Duncan, Iverson, Wade, Marion, LeBron, Melo) on world championship and Olympic teams in 2002 and 2004 (Athens) and went a combined 8-8 (3-5 in 2002, 5-3 in 2004) in International play. If it was so simple and a matter of talent and not coaching, you'd think they would do better!!!

Coach K will be gethering and putting together the USA 2010 World Championship tema in Las Vegas in the coming weeks. Look for Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose and Brandon Roy to be the headliners.

Um....Shaq has a gold medal...I don't know what you expected from him after he won it. But he did represent the USA.

Sprewell and Webber have never been top NBA players.

I don't root for Duke but I'm not a hater. Any time the United States is playing anyone, I have always and will continue to support the American team. Coach K is one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all time, and I think he will do another outstanding job of blending all of the money and the egos in the gym and turn this group into another Gold Medal contender. He has been a winner his whole coaching career.

LOL!!! Very nice mingowhooshcrew! Couldn't agree more. Probably the oddest and stuipidest thread i have read in a while. Even though there are many many Duke haters, me included, you would be hard pressed to find one that doesn't think Coach K is one of the greatest!

Believe me, there are UNC and Kentucky fans hoping he fails so they can get on their horse and criticize K.

Just another fact, Team USA has not won the World Championships since 1994.

Kentucky fans need all they can get considering they have an awful coach/cheater running their program. Calipari is an amazing recruiter, but awful in game coach.
