Does anyone know of any coaching clinics coming up in the northwest ohio area?

The Ohio Association of Track & Cross Country Coaches holds a clinic in Columbus at the end of the month. The following link has details as well as the clinic schedule.

I learned today that the University of Findlay is having sessions for both athletes and coaches on MLK day. Perhaps you can check the UofF web site for details or at least get an email or call out to them.

Check-in* & warm-up: 8:15am-9:00am
Session 1 – 9:00am-10:30am
Session 2 – 10:45am-12:15pm
Session 3 – 12:45-pm-2:15pm
*If you are registering for Session 2 and/or Session 3 only, you may check-in 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of that session.
Events
Session 1: High hurdles
Long jump
Beginning pole vault
Session 2: Shot put
Intermediate hurdles
High jump
Advanced pole vault (boys-11’+; girls-8’6+)

Session 3: Discus
Sprints

This clinic is designed to provide basic fundamental skills in the various track and field events offered. Clinicians will give an overview of the basic techniques involved and participants will be given the opportunity to perform these skills. Attendees will be critiqued and given advice and training methods to improve their skills.

Koehler Fitness & Recreation Complex – The University of Findlay, Findlay, OH
Who may attend
Open to junior high and high school athletes and coaches who have a desire to learn more about track & field.
Cost
$15.00 per session if pre-registered. ($5 discount for multiple sessions); $20.00 per session on day of clinic.
Registration
To pre-register, registration form must be received by Friday, January 15, 2010. You may call or email Lisa at 419-434-4545 or klingshirn@findlay.edu to register to meet this deadline.

What should participants bring?
All clinic attendees should be dressed to work out in their chosen events. Participants should bring appropriate training shoes and/or competition spikes/shoes. Only ¼” pyramid spikes are permitted in our facility. Throwers should bring indoor implements if available. Pole vaulters should bring their own vaulting poles. A water bottle and a light snack are also recommended, especially if attending Sessions 2 and 3.

Directions to The University of Findlay
The University of Findlay is located at 1000 North Main Street, Findlay, OH. The Koehler Fitness & Recreation Complex is located on the corner of North Main Street and Swing Avenue. From Interstate-75, exit #159, follow 224 East (Trenton Ave.) approximately 1.2 miles. Turn right onto Main Street (3rd light). The Koehler Complex is on the right in two blocks, just past the University Bookstore. Parking is available in front of and behind the building.

Capital is having an athlete/coaching clinic Sunday Jan. 31st. Good luck finding information on the web, it was difficult.
