Neither you nor anyone else on this forum anything to do with the AG's Office becoming involved in this case.
Jane Hanlin, and no one else, requested the AG's Office to come in and prosecute this matter.

You're talking out of your butt. If I have the money (and money is really tight for me right now), I will definitely come home to see some games and I will bring my caregiver with me. I have been telling her so much about Steubenville (the good things) that she wants to see it. I will show her the murals, the fort, the land office, FUS, and just everything. And, of course, I will take her to Harding Stadium. She knows what it looks like because she watched 20/20 with me last Friday. Big Red now has another big fan.
I resent your calling me Fairweather. That suggests that I only support my town and my team when things are going well. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Right now Steubenville needs people like me, and I am first in line to help. You probably read my letter to the editor in this past Sunday's Herald Star. I stated as clearly as I could that Reno, Abdalla, and the entire police department need to go. Since I live in Houston, I am limited as to what I can do. But I will do everything I can to get the town cleaned up.
Instead of attacking me, you should do something positive to help the city. We need your help and I am asking for it. I suggest you write a letter to the editor of the HS in support of my position. If you're not willing to help, then just get out of the way. We don't need roadblocks.
For all my faults, you have to give me credit for being possibly the only person who is seriously trying to fix the problem. I will get rid of Reno if it is the last thing I ever do. He is not the alpha or the omega of the problem, but he is the face of the problem.
I'm asking all of you to help me. Collectively we can move mountains. Write letters to the HS. Call the superintendent and the school board members. And don't give up.
We have to take this one step at a time. First, Reno has to go. Secondly, Abdalla has to go. Third, the police have to go. I suppose the school administration also has to go, but that is a long shot.
We just can't sit back and hope that things will get to normal. The genie is out of the bottle and won't go back in. I can't do this by myself. I need your help. Any comments or suggestions will be gratefully accepted.

True... But to be fair, she really had no choice.

Agreed. Given the fact her son was present at Party #1, it should have been sooner, not later.
I know there are time constraints on filing motions to bind over juveniles, etc.; but it seems to me the AG's Office has experienced prosecutors like Hemmeter who can file the necessary pleadings in a expeditious manner.

Steubenville does not need your help. You have no say in what is going on there. Only the people that live there (not you or I) have any say, we moved.
If anything is to happen there, it will come from the current citizens and so far they have been ok with who has stayed or not. You assume that 19000 people that are left there are stupid and that they need you to tell them how to run the city that they stayed in, lived in and died in. They do not care about your opinion. It is tired and old. I have many friends and family that built that school system into one of the finest systems in the state and they are quite capable of policeing their own. Let them and butt out. This is their town now, not ours. Work on cleaning up our 3rd ward here in Houston or something or working on the gang problem in Sharpstown. This is your city now.

I hate to break it to you, brother, but no matter where you and Fairwood live, Steubenville will always be "your town". If what you say is true, why "bigredtexas" and the Steuby helmet avatar? By your reasoning, you should drop both.
No matter where I go or what I do, Coldwater will always be my town, my home. Nothing you say will ever change that.

Hometowns are just that. Sadly, you cannot change anything in Coldwater either if you are not there.
bigredtexas and my avatar are for the OHIO forum I am participating in. I love the team but do not follow it blindly.
Fairweather, like myself, live 1187 miles away and have no clout in that town, none. Sending hateful editorials and emails to people do nothing either because we are not living what they are living NOW. I do support them and their right to do whatever the town wants. What I want to happen (or you for that matter) is not our business.

Mods; I was wondering if this particular thread can be closed.
Since Mays and Richmond have been charged, arrested, tried and convicted; the focus of this thread has become moot.
We still have the current event threads for the April 15th Grand Jury and the debate in regards to Reno Saccoccia alive and kicking on this forum.
Thanks.

pay no attention to Fairwood. He has zero Creditbility. He goes on and on on some alternative blog aabout his athiesim but closes many of hjis posts with God Bless this God bless that,,,,,,,he simply likes to hear himself talk and he revels in DRAWING ATTENTION TO HIMSELF, he's not trying to do good, or be a vehicle for change or anything noble.....he is addicted to the attention he gets from his incoherent ramblings......the guy is flatout a loser. THE REAL TRUTH OF THE MATTER and the overt attempts to slander Reno is not based on his desire to do good, or efect p;ositive change etc. It is plain old revenge and vindictiveness. Fairweather was at a Big Red booster meeting, asked a very stupid question as if he knew anything about football......his question was part stupid and 99% critical. Reno lashed out at him a little and showed just how stupid and ignorant his question was. Before that good old fairweather was Reno's biggest fan....best coach this, best coach that, mighty mighty big red, Pound my chest, look what Reno built........just remember everyone....fairweather is only trying to feed his addiction to attention. Let me say it again...just for you Fairweather......the true character of a man is how he acts and what he does when no one is watching. If your motives where pure and with honesty and sincere desire to help......you would step out of the attention seeking mode and do what you have to do. You love all this attention.....don't forget this either Fairiwood, even the people who agree with your ramblings think your a narcasstic idiot and laugh at you. People you call your friends, talk about you like your a demon from another planet.

Well, I agree with closing this thread if a thread is opened dealing with the grand jury and any possible civil suits regarding this situation.

I say keep it open. I want to see if this thread can surpass the number of views on the "Hot or Not" thread despite that thread having a 2 1/2 year headstart.

The topics are being mostly intermingled. Though this one is most certainly reached the end of it's titular purpose. Those arrested are already convicted and serving their time as we speak. The grand jury and related threads are still there.
