Is there away to update the rosters by going online.

I have been ready on this after trying to update rosters on some of the older games I have, and not being able to.In the stuff I have read it appears that the server gets shutdown and the only way to edit the roster is to do them one player at a time.

That's it, once the newest version of the sports game is released, they stop supporting the old. They don't completely shut down the servers when the new game comes out but they don't offer roster updates etc. After a few years the servers are completely shut down and you cannot play online against others. I suppose the companies would lose a lot of sales if they offered current roster updates for older games.
