Other than last year they went to at least the regionals the last 5 years, and 3 of those years went to the final four, wouldn't know why you would be taking shots at madison.

Net...we have this discusion all day long, but making it to regionals or the final four tells me that you are good within your region. Now will you be that good if you were in another region?

Beating teams like padua, norwalk, columbus desales, pick north I think that makes you a good D2 team in any region. People on this thread were disputing about other things not about how they would have done against certain teams.

In short, yes.

Odd that this thread is talking about a team's accomplishments over two years ago.

Any word on a frontrunner for coach?

Lex fan: The answer to your question is no. And since they only lost one senior (who was injured all year) im guessing they'll be back real soon.

The one that was injured still was their go to player, lead their team in kills. They will be ok this year, nothing special. But guess you cant do much worse than losing your first sectional game. But when you say back soon, like they were a few years back, thats not going to happen anytime soon. Back like they were last year that will.

Agreed that Madison will be good but not great for a couple years. The 3-6 grade program was abandoned for the last few years and the last ones to benefit from the program was the 2012 class and we know how good they were. I'm told the current 6-9 graders a small percentage play club and were not trained as 3rd, 4th and 5th graders like the previous classes. Sounds like Lauber benefited alot from Subich's work and the next coach will not have the same luxury. I would say that it would be 3-4 years before Madison is back at the top of the D2 standings providing that the new coach is able to bring the kids program back.

Vballstaff your right on the money, the young 3-6 graders have been all but abandoned that has been for awhile, Subich worked a lot with the young kids, most of the 7th and 8th graders hardly have anyone playing club ball, both of those classes barely are winning any games. The new coach will have a bunch of work to do with his team and also getting young kids enthused in the game. I think it could be awhile before Madison has a dominant team.
