He did perform well veer. Will be interesting to see if he gets any reps in Fridays scrimmage against Niles.

Some random thoughts about the Saturday makeup scrimmage:

Niles has some big boys on the line...wait big isn't good enough...Niles has some monsters on the line this year. Some of the first year lineman for Lakeview seemed a bit intimidated. Couldn't run the ball at all against the first team D. Schmitt's throwing motion scares me a little. Too much Bernie Kosar (3/4 arm). A couple passes were knocked down at the line. Granted some of the D Lineman were 7 feet tall, but I think that needs worked on. Marino got some reps at QB and didn't look as good as he did in the Blue?White scrimmage, could be nerves.

Didn't show much offensively, Henderson caught a couple passes and looked good running with them. We missed a 35 yd field goal wide right, but had the distance. Don't think they did any warming up for kicking so not bad.

Lincoln Hall had the best runs of the day, one for a TD. Ceasar Mareno, Angelo Marino (no relation) and Jake Pishotti had the best hits on D and none of them are starters. Hopefully we can see a little more this Friday against Canfield, but I doubt it. Madison, Liberty and Girard were all there scouting so I'm sure Pav didn't want to show much.

Need to get the line shored up, but can't imagine we will see anyone with more size than Niles this season. Watson didn't play and he is obviously the core of that group.

Bell didn't play either, not sure when he is due back. Pav had John Guinn and the younger Pishotti starting at receivers along with Henderson and the older Pishotti.

All in all not bad for first time against competiton. What did everyone else think?

The D wasn't bad, but Niles is learning a new style of offense (Spread). They had a bunch of bad snaps. Doesn't look like they have anyone to really throw the ball. Lakeview D will be better once Watson and Bell are back in the lineup.

I missed the scrimmage Lakeview, but heard our d Line got pushed around a bit. Any truth to this? This was coming from Niles kids I talked to. Also Niles QB said they outclassed us. I doubt that to be true.

With their size they should have pushed Lakeview around! They didn't run the ball all that well and like I said, the passing game wasn't effective at all. Outclassed may be a little bit of an overstatement...outsized, definitely.

I was at the scrimmage. I thought the defense looked pretty good. Henderson had 2 interceptions with one of them setting up his own touchdown catch. The offense was shaky at times, but I am not too worried because we have a very young offensive line. I saw that Manella didn't play I hope he is alright. All in all a pretty good performance for the Dogs.

Okay thanks. I've heard some people say that Canfield is going to be young and inexperienced. I've also heard that Canfield looks weaker in the younger grades. It should be an interesting year in the conference.

Canfield definitely did not look like the Canfield teams I am used to seeing. They looked small and the inexperience showed.
