Colerain puts the nail in the coffin with a TD w/3:44 left.
Colerain 28
PC 15
Don't really understand why Sharret goes for it on 4th & 17 in the first half in their own territory, but w/7 minutes left, decides to punt on 4th & 2 in Colerain territory. Poor game management IMO.

Just got back from the game and thought I'd give my two cents while it was fresh on my mind. First, the positives. I thought that the offense played well for having so many inexperienced players. Simpkins has the potential to be a very good quarterback. With that being said, I don't understand what the offense was trying to accomplish. They rolled the qb out, many times to his left. He holds the ball for 2 and 3 seconds at a time while he runs toward the sideline. The defense only has to play half of the field, and the qb threw deep into triple coverage at least 3 times (it was lucky that only one was intercepted). That type of play calls for a quick decision to either throw a short to medium pass in the flat or run. I would chalk it up to Simpkins' inexperience, except I've watched PC do the same thing for years. Somebody please put me out of my misery and explain that strategy to me. IMO, Simpkins looked better when he could set his feet in the pocket and throw. But my biggest disappointment was the defense. I've never seen the Tigers play so soft! Again, I know that there was a lot of inexperience out there, but I didn't see anybody out there that looked like they really wanted to hit somebody. I've said in the past that Tiger defense needs to be played with a certain level of rage. Maybe the players were being too careful -- afraid to make mistakes. I didn't see any playmakers on defense. There is also a noticeable lack of the usual team speed. I don't see anybody on the team that could outrun somebody 80 yards for a touchdown (please somebody prove me wrong). STILL, that was a winnable game. I honestly don't think the kids were put in the best postion to be successful on either side of the ball. I agree with Tigera. Some of the calls mystified me. Also, Taco looked worn out playing both ways. If he is your best defensive player, he needs to play less offense and probably stay on the wide side of the field. The pitch killed Pick tonight. I think PC will be a good team eventually, but they won't be the same type of team we've seen for the last several years.

You should really stop playing in traffic, you may think it helps you gain an edge but it is really on the edge of taking a trip to 'the ward'.
I guess you didn't see the Tigers play last year. Many on the huddle commented on the Tigers improvement in the area you so unabashedly thrash upon. The Tigers still played with the same aggressive style but the number of yellow hankies was noticeably down. Hoping that trend continues this year as the young Tigers won't need to give away yards.
I think the Tiger 'Dynasty' is what they have earned (PHS and PHSC results).
136 - 25 record since 1999
13x OCC Division Champs (6 Consecutive),
12 trips to the playoffs,
4 Regional Championships,
2 State Runner Up.
To my knowledge, no one has proclaimed them State Champions or any more than what they have accomplished.
I guess in your opinion, unless a team has won a State Championship, they shouldn't go out and Compete, have confidence or a belief in what they do.
Nor should they have parents and fans who are proud of their accomplishments. Folks who want to support them and be there to celebrate the moments of glory and offer support in the times of challenge.
The Tigers certainly stepped up in terms of scheduling a year ago and ran the gauntlet to get to Canton. They learned valuable lessons about themselves and what it takes to overcome adversity and return from an 0 - 2 start. I believe that was on the field versus 'Paper' as you like to say.
This years team faces the same daunting task with two huge games to start the year. Kudos to the young men for getting into the weight room and preparing for the season. They looked good in person in the scrimmage. I didn't see anyone walking out there pointing at 'Paper' making any claims for anyone to lay down before them. They strapped it up and went to work.
I guess that's the thing to do to be a 'Paper' Tiger.
When you get back on the bus, just remember, the wipers go whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
Go Tigers!!! Beat The Cardinals!!!

Have you all considered DIII seeing you can't win a title in DI or D2? Tuning up with Dover might help you for a title run in DIV but its not going to do much for an opener against Colerain. Coke, I am beginning to question the origins of your moniker. Put down the crackpipe and I will provide a summation of my position for clarification; No title in your history of existence, poor sportsmanship and a coaching staff who promotes and cultivates this behavior, arrogant fair weather fans, and a program with no ethics when it comes to breaking OHSAA rules. The bus you refer to in your response has COLERAIN written on the front of it, brother. I see people are already throwing Sharrett under one in Picktown.

Not sure of the injury. But, he was hurt in the Dover scrimmage and is probably out for the season.

Where did this hater come from? Nobody is throwing anybody under the bus. This was the first game! I don't like some of his calls, but Sharrett has a proven track record of winning in spite of what anybody says. PC fans can look at what happens in games and give evaluations without condemning the program. I don't know what your problem is with PC, but we'll see if you end up like a lot of other Tiger haters in the past watching the PC in the playoffs. I'll stay arrogant while you stay ignorant.

Wow.... This rattdogg character is showing no love for Picktown, is he? I'll admit, PC is not necessarily one of the Moose's favorite teams, but that kind of hate.....must be from Lancaster......
PC keeps gettin' their foot in that championship door but can't quite seem to get it open. They'll keep plugging away at it and, I suspect, eventually get in that Division 1 Title room with Davidson and UA.

I'm not sure where all of this angst is coming from MightyMousePoodle but allow me to be a "slight" apologist for my beloved PC Tigers... in a short span of 9 years Coach Jay has taken this football program from virtual insignificance to State notoriety and National recognition! Winning a Championship at any level is a very difficult task (D1 or D1000).... yet having the opportunity to play for two State Championships within that span of 9 years is a MAJOR accomplishment!!! I'm with Kangaroo, Pepsi & Antlers.... all of this venom from MightyMousePoodle is quite "interesting" - It's a very long season (and this is just week 1) - allow these young players and the coaching staff to evaluate the game film; make the necessary adjustments, learn from the past and create a positive outcome against MF.
GO TIGERS!!! Defeat the Demons!!!

Hey, welcome back... oh how we missed your prose.
I guess you didn't see the talk about the Scrimmage Central had with Moeller, Springfield and Dublin Jerome. Definitely nothing there to aid the development of a young team.
To quote the movie Red Dawn,,, "All that hate's gonna burn you up kid."
Happy to say my moniker comes more from the Cola and some JH and HS football brothers in arms in small town USA versus any illegal narcotics. But then I guess you have proven you don't have a knack for research. As for the rest, it's not even worth acknowledging.
Proud of how hard the Tigers played on Saturday. I think they showed their mettle as well as some opportunities to develop. I think they will be fine on the season. The young Tigers stood toe to toe with a perennial power team in Cincy. the veteran squad from Colerain executed their O well and earned the W. Good luck to them the rest of the way.
For the Tigers, it will be back to work to get ready for the Red Devils. Should be a great atmosphere Friday night.
Let's Go Tigers!!!
Go Tigers!!! The Tiger Faithful are proud of their Tigers!!!

Watching the game now and in the first half I am impressed with the play of both teams.
Colerain as always has a lot of speed and they rotate their players a lot causing problems for the defense.
Central just seems to be a good team with out the super star.
I think both teams will have very good seasons.
