Sportsnut,
I'm not disputing the extra days a civilian should get to vote, but why should the military get the same? If a civi gets those extra days wouldn't those that put their lives (currently) in harms way get some additional time? Could you please tell us why they should be treated the same?

On the subject of proof regarding dead voters that casted votes and did count:

I called the Secretary of State's office and got a voicemail back. The local election officials across Ohio requested the Friday cut-off bc the law requires that they have the lists of who already voted to the precincts by the day before the election. That way they can prevent double voting. The military exception was created bc the numbers were believed to be so low tat it wouldn't create too much problems. This seems logical and reasonable to me. I understand that some of you folks believe there's a nefarious purpose. Again, I didn't talk to her, that was a voicemail, but I was invited to call back.

The suit doesn't ask what any of you right-wingers claim. In fact, none of you can make an argument that it does, so all of you are simply trying to change the subject.

"Bite me"? Wow -- what a 7th grade argument you guys make!

You wonder why many of us have left this forum? Gee, maybe it's because we like to discuss things with people who can debate like reasonable adults.

1. You still disagree that cutting the three days would or could have the net impact of suppressing the military vote?
2. For or against giving only the military the extra three days?
3. Do you agree that there is a logical basis to give them the three days?

I thought it was a rather clever and appropriate response given the tone of the post I was responding to. Sorry if you are offended, I offered to go civil, but was rebuffed, OK? I doubt anybody left the forum due to that, I trade eye for eye, no first blood.

The lawsuit reduces the time the legislature has set for the military to vote. Any reasonable person can thus conclude that some military might run out of time to vote-hence voter suppression. If you won't concede that, yet cry "voter suppression" when we try and make sure only people who are eligible to vote do so, then your views must so radically aligned with your emperor, that discussion won't help.

With the deepest respect,
NapRover

p.s. i spent 3 years in the 7th grade, I know damn well how to make a 7th grade argument!
