Default Kenton vs. Coldwater - 08-20-2012, 08:55 AM

Let's get this started! I personally will be glad to see this one end as I don't think it will be much of a game for Coldwater this year..I hope for a surprise with this team but after watching Friday, I'm not expecting us to put up much of a fight. Defense needs to play better, Sherman needs to not overthrow everything, O-line needs to block better, and recievers need to not drop balls when they are all by themselves... Our speed is down this year so we will live on the middle screens and WR screens, just gotta hope teams don't start jumping the routes. I think 6-4 would be realistic for this Kenton team but I feel like Coldwater is going to be a juggernaut this year. Still, its football season and I couldn't be happier to go support the Wildcats! With Mike Mauk at the helm, you never know till its over. Go Cats!!!

This could be one of the biggest routes on Kenton in recent years! Hoping for a win here though for a fellow WBL school!

Good luck from Wapak!

Are you sandbagging???

In all seriousness, I hope Coldwater goes into Robinson Field and comes out with a win. It'd be nice to get back on the winning track against Kenton and start out the 2012 season strong.

Really wish i could be at the game, but my work schedule will prevent me from doing so.

GO CAVS!!!!!

Football season already? Time flies as we get older. Hope the Cavs can match up against Kenton and give their hosts a good contest.

Congrats to Coldwater...
The future sure looks bright for THE KENTON WILDCATS! Just gotta clean up the penalties and turnovers. Sherman definitely show he has a nice touch with every pass. Over all the Cavs made a few more plays.
KENTON will make some noise in the WBL. Best of luck to the Cavs the rest of the year!! You got us this time. Always a good time.

^^^ +1.... didn't think it would be close at all but kenton stepped up big time.. coldwater played like a top team in the state.. as we all thought. WR's need to catch the ball better and the O line improve a little and kenton can def make some noise this year.. kenton is so young and the future is def very bright.. great job to both teams

Kenton was in this game all night until the 4th quarter. I was really impressed with the defense and the play of sherman. Man that kid took some big hits tonight and got right back up. The dropped passes are a concern and I hope they clean that up. The defensive line was good but need to get more penetration and not give apposing QB,s all day to throw the ball. Coldwater has a great team this year and will be in the hunt for the state title and I wish them luck the rest of the year.

Overall Kenton impressed me with the youth of this team. Sherman can flat out throw that ball in some tight spaces. Performance wise he was right there with Auston Bruns tonight. Kenton's pass defense it not bad but the run defense needs to improve going into the WBL play. If Kenton get's better each week I think they will compete for the WBL title and if not could get to the playoffs this year. But the penalties and the dropped passes killed the Cat's tonight. But overall I think they competed with Coldwater and will be a hard team to beat in the WBL.

I think the turning point of the game was a poor coaching decision.
Going for it on 4th and 6 at your own 35 yard line isnt a sound choice in the first half, and only down by 1 score.

It is diff if you have a Mauk back there to run or pass it, as the kid could get 10 yards in his sleep.

I know they are very unconventional in their approach to the game, and it has worked many a time, but they usually have been bailed out by a great play by either ben or maty.
There are poor choices that sometimes turn out for a team. I just think it wasnt in the best interest of the team to go for it at that time
