Week #1: Shaw @ Dover

Let's get this one rolling. I don't know if there are very many Shaw posters on here but what can you tell us about your offense? How about the defense? Dover will be pass happy as usual but is not afraid to run the ball either if called upon. Our skill guys are pretty small but they are quick and will elude you and turn short passes and screens into big plays. Our defense seems to be improved over what I have seen the last couple years. GO DOVER!!!!! BEAT SHAW!!!!!

I think Shaw will be Dovers toughest opening game since the 08 Canton South opener which was also Dovers last home loss. That said I think Dover pulls away and wins by a reasonable margin.

Dover should win, but this will be the fastest team the Tornadoes see in the regular season.

I agree, which is a worry. If a team is able to play pretty much man-on-man on the outside against Dover's receivers it could be a problem. Canton South had this ability for a couple years and held Dover's offense relatively in check. I think the Tornadoes will be able to pull out the W, but they better play well Thursday night or Shaw could shock a few people down this way.

Tornadoes will have all they can handle in this one. Let's hope the new starters get over the first game jitters and perform well.

Saw the coaches cars at the stadium Sunday. Ifft and coaches will have these boys ready
fast teams can be a little scary if the have a gamebreaking RB that can break off a few big TD runs and keep them in a game. I recall this a few times over the years

Man I can't wait til Thurs. 11 hitting silver bullets will slow down that speed every time. Soon enough we will see if our "D" has improved this season. First three games will set the tone for the year. GO TORNADOES!!!!! BEAT SHAW!!!!!

A 7 pm start?? That should get the game over a 1/2 hour earlier or give Dover a extra 1/2 hour to chuck the ball up and down the field.

I don't know why some people are so worried about getting the games over earlier. 8 pm starts would be much more comfortable for players and fans especially since we play 2 games before September.

Not sure what that means.....

Most leagues in the state have started games at 7:00 for several years now. The passing game has extended the length of the game. When games started at 8:00, teams threw maybe 10 times per game and were over usually by 9:30.....games now have been starting at 7:30 and ending at 10:00.
