Last year the riders got off on a slow start only up 7-0 at the half, then settled down in the 2nd half and scored 23 points.
The Burg is still young on both lines, I look for wj to pound the ball and wear them down.

The Burg is young and small.We had a decent scrimmage at Graham last night. Too many miscues with the snap to qb. We had to replace our starting center because of injury, so hopefully they will straighten that out quickly. Defensively we just don't tackle well at all. From what I saw at WJ/LE scrimmage is if you don't tackle the qb and rb they will run all night long. Good luck to both and PLEASE no injuries.

Mechanicsburg will be better than last year, but are still going to struggle against some of their tougher opponents (West Jefferson being one of them). Talented QB...he will be the key to their success. Shut Black down and West Jefferson could make this game ugly.

Black is not on the team, and Max Erwin is not on the team. They did not go out because of previous injuries to work on other sports(wrestling/baseball). I hope we are better than last year, just don't see it yet. Since it is the first game we should have a decent crowd. I am looking forward to week 2 at Wj/Ml. I will be there.

That's discouraging news. The Burg will struggle without these two...struggle bad.

I would like to see Mechanicsburg get back to the playoffs but they'll be hurting without a few of their better players.

I think that a lot of WJ players are out to prove themselves, Casto especially. Im thinking he has a big night, running and passing and at DB, and will lead WJ to a big victory.

3 more days until the first friday under the lights, I've been patiently waiting since last season so I'm pretty excited.

Has anybody heard any news on the Denes kid? I heard he re-injured his collar bone, that knocked him out of his last year of MS football. Hate to lose a kid before he even gets to see he field.

Talked to a few people, heard it wasnt too serious. He wont have to have surgery so it will only sideline him for 6 weeks.. counting the time its been since the injury I think he should be able to be back by October so lets hope he can get some playing time in. He is such an explosive athlete and will definitely be an asset to the team.

There is a town pep rally at the high school tonight at 8 I believe, hope to see a big crowd tonight.
