Default Team Needs - 08-02-2012, 09:57 PM

Heat 18U - Patton
Team will have around 5 openings due to players aging out and will primarily be looking for pitchers and outfielders.

Heat 18U - McGhee
This will be an older 18U team in 2013 coached by Amy McGhee and Mardee DeSantis. We will be playing a light schedule of 4-5 tournaments. These may include a Marysville/Beavercreek tournament, Lasers/GAPPS, Loudenville, and an end-of-season national.

This team has 3 spots open for 2013. Our needs are for a short stop, a pitcher, and a utility player, or any combination. These needs may change as we are waiting for offers to be accepted. This post will be updated accordingly.

Please contact Amy McGhee at 614-619-0339 with any questions.

Heat 18U - NWO TBA
This NWO team returns a core set of players, but is looking for a couple of additonal infielders, outfielders, and an additional pitcher.

Buckeye Heat '96 16U - Zoltowski
The core of the 2012 ASA Nationals qualifying team will return, and attempt another run at the ASA crown. To assist them in this quest, Coach Zoltowski will be looking for at catchers, outfielders, and utility players. Team is based out of NWO.

Buckeye Heat '96 16U - Lee
'96 Lee will be looking for 3 to 4 girls. Priority for the team is acquiring a new #1 or Co-#1 pitcher as the #1 from this season is moving to 18U. Second priority is a lefty slapper with good speed that could hit in the lead off or 2 spot, followed by a solid outfielder (center would be ideal) and a solid middle infielder. All positions will be evaluated with a strong emphasis on good hitting. '97s as well as '96s are encouraged to tryout (team currently has 5 '97s).

2 to 3 fall tournaments, and a 9 on 9 winter league will help build the foundation for the summer season of 8-9 tournaments. Summer tournaments will be "A" national qualifiers or College Exposure Showcases (Dayton ASA/USA, ASA States, Lasers, GAPSS, etc.)

Heat '96 16U - Kurelic
96 Kurelic is looking for a 3rd baseman or shortstop as well as a No. 1 or co-No. 1 pitcher. This is a very successful and stable team with little turnover the past couple of seasons. Team has 10 returning players from a team that won 31 games and lost 13 this past season and was 37-14 the previous season finishing in the top 12 out of 50 teams at the Eastern Nationals.

This team will play three or four fall tournaments including the Stingrays Fall Showcase, and one winter indoor tournament. Girls will also have the opportunity to play in a winter hitting league. Next summer team will do 8-9 tournaments with emphasis on ASA national qualifiers and college exposure showcases (state ASA, GAPSS, Lasers, Dayton ASA/USA, etc.).

Please e-mail coach Bill Kurelic at bkurelic@insight.rr.com for questions or to introduce your player before tryouts.

Heat '97 15U - Moody
'97 Moody will return 8 players from last year's team ('97 Kontak), but could use assistance in the battery (catchers & pitchers), as well as a utility player or two. Team is based out of NWO.

Heat '97 15U - Brininger
Projected schedule for this team:
Fall:Scenic 16, Chattanooga Tennessee, Stingrays Fall Showcase
Summer: PGF Qualifier, 16U States, Stingrays, 16U ASA/USA National or PGF (if qualified), other summer tournaments still to be determined.

Buckeye Heat 97 will be looking for 3-4 players. One major need is a co-#1 pitcher. We are not looking for a #2, but a pitcher that can challenge and share the workload with our #1 lefty. We are also looking for SPEED. The team just returned from Sioux Falls SD at the ASA/USA 14U nationals, and the teams that separated themselves had speed up and down the lineup. The speed can be in the form of an outfielder or infielder. We will be carrying between 11-13 players. The player must be able to play multiple positions, and will have to earn playing time. Heat '97 is returning 8 players from a team that shared the 16U HOH Summer Celebration championship, won the Great Lakes Regional ASA/USA and the Region 9 ASA/USA championship.

We are only looking for players where college softball is the dream and the goal. This team will be traveling out of state and will expect year round dedication.

Please email Coach Brininger at buckeyeheat97@gmail.com for questions or to introduce your player before tryouts.

Heat '98 14U - Galownia
Heat '98 will be looking for another strong pitcher and an outfielder or utility player with a strong bat. The team will look to play a very competitive schedule including GAPSS , Orrville Fire in the Sky, Lasers, ASA states, possibly USSSA states and will wrap up the season with a trip to nationals.

Heat 13U/14U - Yeater
This will basically be a new team with a small core group of girls we are looking to add to. Coach Yeater will be looking to fill 6-7 positions including pitchers, catchers, infielders, and outfielders. With this being a 14U team...any 14U eligible player will be looked at for consideration, including 98's.

After finalizing its membership, the team will immediately get to work on core fundamentals with the goal of putting together a solid team. Coach Yeater has worked with Howard Carrier and Crystl Bustos on hitting, Howard Kobata on defensive methods, and is very knowledgeable in the pitching methods of Doug Gillis, Bill Hillhouse, and Cheri Kempf, as well as the short game of Larry Ray and Mike Larabee. If you are willing to put in the hard work and effort needed this team will help you become a better player!!!

The plan is to play in at least one Fall tourney, possibly a Fall league, and 6-8 tourneys next Summer, including a World Series or Nationals. Most practices will be held at Northmor HS which is about 45 miles north of Columbus, and roughly half-way between Marion and Mansfield.

Coach Yeater has 16 years of fastpitch softball coaching experience including 10 years as the Varsity Coach at Northmor HS, and 11 years of travel coaching 12U to 18U.

Coach Yeater may be contacted by email at ksy2268@aol.com

Heat '99 13U - Ferguson
This team will play in at least 1-2 fall/winter tournaments, a fall/winter indoor 6 on 6 league and a competitive, aggressive summer schedule. Rick also runs several fall and spring friendlies. '99 - Ferguson will be based out of Marion, OH, where Coach Ferguson has access to indoor and outdoor practice facilities.

'99 Ferguson will return a very strong core for next season. Focus will be on middle infielders, strong pitchers to add to our rotation, and possibly an outfielder to finish the team. There is a lot of flexibility with this group and positions, so the team will be able to make adjustments for athletes that make the team stronger.

Coach Rick Ferguson may be contacted at 740-262-1394 or via email at rick@buckeyeheat99.com

Heat '00 12U - Berry
Coach Molly Berry was an assistant on our NWO 16U team last year, but is moving down to take over the 12U team for 2013. She will be assisted by Lisa Zoltowski and Brittany Richberg. This will be a new team so all positions are needed.

Heat '00 12U - Anderson
This team has only one opening and will be filling it via private tryouts. The 12u - Anderson team will be looking for a utility player who would also accept #3 pitcher role.

Contact Coach Anderson at ba43230@yahoo.com for private tryout.

Heat '01 11U - Gill
Buckeye Heat '01 is returning a strong core set of players, but has 4 openings. Primary needs are a pitcher, and a strong outfielder; otherwise, we are looking for versatile athletes with speed. Most of the returning players are versatile athletes and can adapt to various positions.

Coach Nick Gill may be contacted via email at db8361@dragonbbs.com or by phone at 614-570-2202

Heat '02 10U - Cellar
This is will be Coach Jason Cellar's 6th season of coaching travel softball (previous experience has been with ages 10U-16U ). This will be a new team for the 2013 season and ALL positions are open. The team will play at least 1 fall tournament in addition to some fall friendlies. The 2013 summer schedule will include playing 6 tournaments and a goal of qualifying and playing in a National tournament. Team will be based out of Marion, but there is a possibility that a field just north of Columbus may be used.

Please feel free to contact Jason at jasoncellar@yahoo.com or 740-361-2327.

Heat '02 10U - Hoiles
This is Matt's second year at 10U in NWO. He has 4 girls returning, but is looking for players at all positions.

I am pleased to announce that two of my former players will be joining Jason Cellar's Heat '02 10U staff as assistant coaches.

After fifteen years of playing competitive softball, Renay Bakley is moving from the Buckeye Heat's 23U team to the coach's box. Renay was primarily an outfield specialist who used her switch hitting capability and speed to regularly find her way on base. A graduate of Mount Vernon HS where she earned two varsity letters, Renay went on to earn a varsity letter at Capital University along with her degree in early childhood education. Renay is currently employed as an intervention specialist in the Southwestern City School District.

Rachael May is also making the move from our 23U squad into the coaching ranks. Rachael was a four year letter winner at Thomas Worthington HS where she holds the distinction of being the only player in school history to play all nine positions at the varsity level. After growing up in the Buckeye Heat program, Rachael went on to be a part of three NCAA Regional qualifying teams at Northern Kentucky University. Rachael will be graduating from NKU this spring with a degree in middle grades education.

Default 14U Buckeye Heat 99-Yeater (Needs Catcher and Utility/OF) - 08-19-2012, 10:32 PM

Buckeye Heat 99-Yeater has a huge need for an athletic catcher with a strong arm as well as a utility/outfielder. We assembled a pretty good team through tryouts last weekend but are still in need of a catcher. If think you have what it takes to catch at this level please contact me via email at ksy2268@aol.com. Thanks!!
