Either you're a team or you're not - and, imo, you're not a team if some of the players have to stay back while others travel to Florida or wherever.
I know Heidelberg takes all their players. Ohio Wesleyan currently takes all their players on most years. Marietta does NOT take all their players.

My son got to go with his college and had a great experience. Got to pitch in a lot of games.

Update: My son decided to choose Heidelberg, after checking out 5 schools, all DIII. He had some interest from a couple D1's that wanted him to walk on, and 1 D2, but he decided to go to the Berg.

He has just completed his sophomore year, and has no regrets. He was injured for much of his freshman season, but was still able to travel to Florida for the spring trip, and contributed some innings at the end of the season. Last year he was a league pitcher, had some good outings early, struggled middle of the season, but finished strong with a complete game in the OAC tournament.

A good friend of his who he had played with for several years decided to go to Mount. Found out in the fall that everything they told him during recruiting was not true. They told him if he wanted to stay on varsity it would be as a pitcher. He wanted a chance to compete for the ss position, but was not given a chance. He's still in school, but no longer playing.

I'm not trying to knock any program. We have learned a lot from the recruiting process. Mount's starting lineup has quite a few boys that my son has played with over the years. It is nice to see them have some success.

It will be interesting to see how Marietta fares with the graduation of so much dominant pitching, as well as OAC MVP Saunders, although they always seem to have a few studs up their sleeve. Maybe this coming year will be the Berg's year to be back on top.

Marietta almost always reloads, they always have a few pitchers in the wings. Son was recruited by Marietta and Hiedelburg. respected both coaches, He also likes his coach at OWU.

Tough year for Hiede, injuries to their staff really hurt this team. I am sure coach palm will get them back on top soon.

Hopefully OWU will be back near the top regionally soon. They should have a good recruiting class coming in. Their pitching staff should be mostly intact, with just the loss of Kevin Schindler to Graduation. Mason Farr was also a senior and pitched well while his first three years. Unfortunately he was hurt this year.

Starting Pitchers:
Seniors ERA
Steven Skarsten 2.50 - Second team all NCAC
Brandon Sega 3.33

Sophomore
Charles Cooper 1.86 - Newcomer of the year and Second team all NCAC

I know this school isnt in ohio but its right on the border....Adrian College in SE Michigan has had major success that last few seasons including a trip to the world series in 2008. They consistently finish in the top 25 and their facilities are probably top 5 in all of division 3 baseball. If anyone thinks different their crazy or haven't seen them first hand. Ohio has some of the best division 3 teams in the country but I would reccommend Adrian to any high school prospect looking to compete at a great school with great facilities.

Adrian is very good. They play in the MIAA. The winner of the regular season was always given the auto bid in the past. This has been Adrian for quite a few years. Starting in 2012 the MIAA started having a tournament to determine the auto bid.

We will see if this effects how often Adrian gets to regionals. They will still be the favorite for the division, Just like Marietta is every year in the OAC.
